FKIP – International Office (IO) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an Opening Ceremony or the Opening of the Southeast Asian Technical and Vocational Education and Training (SEA-TVET) Exchange Program Batch 1 2022 on Tuesday (30 /5/2022). The event was held online through the Zoom Meeting application.
SEA-TVET Exchange Program Batch 1 2022 is a vocational student exchange program in Southeast Asia initiated by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO). This program was attended by students from four study programs at FKIP UNS, namely Accounting Education Study Program, Information and Computer Engineering Education Study Program (PTIK), Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program (PTM), and Building Engineering Education Study Program (PTB).
In implementing the SEA-TVET Exchange Program Batch 1 2022, FKIP UNS collaborates with three university partners in ASEAN. The three universities are NEUST Sumacab Campus Philippines, Polytechnic of Sultan Azlan Shah Malaysia, and Polytechnic of Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Malaysia.
In his speech, Dr. Djono, M.Pd. as the Deputy Dean of Planning, Business Cooperation, and Information, congratulated the implementation of this program. He hopes that the SEA-TVET Exchange Program Batch 1 2022 will have a positive impact on the quality of education in Indonesia, especially in FKIP UNS.
“We congratulate the SEA-TVET Exchange Program Batch 1. We hope that this program will provide many opportunities for students to develop their potential and have a positive impact on improving the quality of learning at FKIP UNS,” said Dr. Djono
Also giving a speech, Ansgar Schaefer as the Coordinator of SEA-TVET who is pleased to attend the opening ceremony of the SEA-TVET Exchange Program Batch 1 2022 as a representative of SEAMEO. This is an honor for FKIP UNS because not all universities in the SEAMEO consortium get this opportunity.
In his opening session, he said that this program would be an interesting and valuable experience.
“We congratulate you on this wonderful student exchange program. We are very proud to be a part of this program. For students who take part in this program, we believe this will be an interesting and valuable experience for you. Student exchange is a challenge as well as an opportunity for you to develop your skills and competencies. We wish you all the best and thank you for being a part of SEAMEO,” said Ansgar.
The event was continued with remarks and brief profile presentations by the directors of each of the universities that became FKIP partners in the SEA-TVET Exchange Program Batch 1 2022. The next event was the cultural performance of each of these universities.
This activity ended with the submission of the names of the participants of the SEA-TVET Exchange Program Batch 1 2022 and joint documentation.
