FKIP – The Citizenship Political Philosophy Research Group (Prodi) Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta conducted community service activities entitled “Training and Assistance in the Development of Civic Education Learning Materials on the Study of the Constitution 1945 Based on the Decision of the Constitutional Court” on Monday (23/5/2022) at SMAN 3 Sragen.
The Citizenship Political Philosophy Research Group consists of several lecturers, namely Erna Yuliandari, SH, MA; Dr. Moh. Muchtarom, S.Ag., M.Sc.; Dr. Winarno, S.Pd., M.Sc.; Dr. Machmud Al Rasyid, SH, M.Sc.; Dr. Rusnaini, M.Sc.; and Anis Suryaningsih, S.Pd., M.Sc.
This activity was carried out through a collaboration between the PPKn Study Program, FKIP UNS, and the MGMP PPKn SMA Sragen Regency. The reason for implementing this activity is because Civics teachers generally only use textbooks for teaching the 1945 Constitution, even though the Constitutional Court’s decision can be used as teaching material for the 1945 Constitution.
“So far, PPKn high school teachers have only used teaching materials in the form of textbooks for the study of the 1945 Constitution, whereas one of the teaching materials that teachers can use to study the 1945 Constitution is the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK). The decision of the Constitutional Court is final, so it binds citizens to obey it,” explained Erna Yuliandari.
Erna added that other materials were also delivered in this activity, namely the Analysis of KI and KD Substance of Study of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia at the High School Level (Independent Curriculum) by Dr. Machmud; Enrichment Materials Examples of Constitutional Court Decisions in the Study of Materials for the 1945 Constitution of Senior High School Level Civics were delivered by Erna Yuliandari, SH, MA, and Dr. Rusnaini, M.Si.
Furthermore, the material for Searching for Materials on the Constitutional Court’s Decision via the Web and the Method of Presentation was conveyed by Dr. Muchtarom, S. Ag. and Anis Suryaningsih, M.Sc.; as well as material for Organizing and Developing Constitutional Materials based on the Constitutional Court’s Decision in the E-material for High School Civics which was delivered by Dr. Winarno, S.Pd, M.Sc.
The activity continued with the development of teaching materials for Civics Study of the 1945 Constitution which was held on June 20, 2022, at SMAN 1 Sragen.
This mentoring activity was attended by 35 PPKn teachers of Sragen Regency who are members of the Sragen Regency PPKn MGMP. The mentoring material for the development of PPKn teaching materials, namely Confirmation of Content and Discussion of LKPD Teaching Materials from the Aspects of Content/Essential Materials delivered by Dr. Machmud, Erna Yuliandari, SH, MA, Dr. Rusnaini, M.Si. Continued, the material for Confirmation and Discussion of LKPD Teaching Materials from the Presentation Aspect and Online Reference Sources by Dr. Winarno, M.Si. and Anis Suryaningsih, S.Pd., M.Sc.
The results of this service activity are expected to be sustainable so that teachers can independently develop PPKn teaching materials for the 1945 Constitution of the High School Study, one of which is through the source of the Constitutional Court Decision which can encourage students to think critically.
