FKIP – Students of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta again made achievements at the national level. They are Dea Muthia Febry and Karisma Rahmawati from the Physics Education Study Program. They joined a team with Zamia Atha Putri from the Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program. They won 1st place in the National Scientific Writing Competition organized by the Jakarta State University (UNJ) Young Research Group (KPM).

Dea said that the idea that was brought up in the writing competition was related to educational innovation. Furthermore, Dea and her team noted that research on educational and technological developments takes work. This is because testing must be carried out by implementing it in a class or study group, both on a large and small scale.

“A validation stage is also needed. In the early stages of research, observations need to be made to obtain an analysis of the needs of the students. Then, after a solution is found, the solution as an educational innovation needs to be discussed with material experts and media experts and revised to suit the needs and validation of the experts.

However, we are very happy and grateful because our hard work has paid off by bringing home the 1st place title,” said Dea, as quoted from the uns.ac.id website.

Meanwhile, Dea added, the tip for conquering a scientific writing competition is to present innovation not only as a finished product. But it has also been tested so that the ideas and research flow can be conveyed in detail to the jury at the time of presentation.

“As the next generation of young people, we must contribute to developing education in Indonesia by presenting innovation. Thus, we hope that in the future, education in Indonesia will be able to face the challenges of the Global Megatrend Era,” she continued.

Lastly, Dea and the team advised them to find passion and contribute according to their passion.

“For example, because I come from an education study program and I have an interest in the world of learning, that’s where I will have room to contribute. Namely by always conducting research and providing ideas for education in Indonesia,” she concluded.
