The series of activities were attended by all Tempurejo Village KKN students and the RT 1 community and representatives from RT 2, RT 3, RT 4, and RT 5. This program aims to increase public awareness, especially in waste management. In addition, this program also aims to train the public to be able to process waste optimally.
Before the socialization activity began, 2 days earlier, the socialization invitation had been distributed to the community. The socialization activity began with remarks by the head of KKN 21 followed by the Head of RT 1 Tempurejo Village Representative, Andriyanto. The socialization activity lasted for approximately 2 hours. The residents’ enthusiasm was evident from the many residents who came to the socialization event.
The following day, activities focused on training on making compost as an effort in waste management. In practical training activities for making compost, the first thing to do is to collect kitchen waste in the form of leftover vegetables, rotten fruits, and other vegetable waste.
Besides collecting kitchen waste, they also collect dry waste in the form of dry leaves. After the waste has been collected, the waste is put into the bucket in the order of dry waste, wet waste, and a little soil until the bucket is full. Then, the bucket is closed tightly and left for two months. After that, the compost is ready to use.
This activity ended with the handing over of a set of trash cans. The KKN 21 team hopes that the Tempurejo Village Community, especially RT 1, can continue to implement the knowledge gained in this activity to reduce the amount of waste and make an effort to manage waste properly.
