FKIP – Friday (10/10/2023), the Pancasila and Civic Education Study Program (PPKn) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held an evaluation of the implementation of the curriculum review for 2023. The activity was carried out offline in the Hall of Building F 3rd Floor FKIP UNS and online through the Zoom Meeting application.
The activity aimed to evaluating and ensuring the relevance of the curriculum to the development of education and student needs was opened with remarks by Dr. Triana Rejekiningsih, S.H., M.Pd., always the Head of the PPKn S-1 Study Program. In her speech, she conveyed the need for regular curriculum reviews. He also stressed the importance of ensuring that the curriculum remains relevant to the latest developments in the field of education.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Mardiyana., M.Si., as Dean of FKIP UNS highlighted the need for curriculum review every year to ensure the continuity of the curriculum and its implementation. He explained that this aims to improve the competence and integrity of students so that they can achieve maximum potential.
“Every year, curriculum approval should be carried out in the study program to avoid things that lack the sustainability of the curriculum to its implementation and ensure that the ongoing curriculum remains relevant to the latest developments in the field of education and student needs.
Dr. Winarno., S.Pd., M.Si as the Head of the PPKn S2 Study Program in his introduction, said that the PPKn Study Program is currently running a curriculum based on Permendikbudristek Number 53 of 2023. This is a step to support the Merdeka Curriculum.
The event continued with the presentation of material delivered by Prof. Dr. Sapriya., M.Ed., through the Zoom Meeting platform. It presents the curriculum framework of the study program, including the development stage, curriculum evaluation, and tracer study. He emphasized the need to develop a curriculum that is in accordance with the needs of graduate competencies in the world of work.
Prof. Sapriya also outlined the philosophical, psychological, sociological, and fordis foundations, as well as the vision, mission, goals, strategies, and values of the university. The scientific vision of the study program is also explained as an ideal in studying and developing science.
Then the presentation of the material was continued by Prof. Dr. Sarwanto., S.Pd., M.Si. He focused on material related to learning outcomes and the legal basis of curriculum development. He highlighted changes in graduate competency standards and the learning process to their positive impact.
Through this curriculum review, the UNS PPKn Study Program is committed to continuously improving the quality of education and ensuring its relevance to the demands of educational development and student needs. This evaluation is to make a positive impact to the advancement of education within UNS, especially in the PPKn Study Program.
