FKIP – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Student Activity Unit (UKM) Expo in the 2021 New Student Campus Acquaintance Program (PKKMB) series on Monday (16/8/2021) online via Zoom Cloud Meeting.

The activity began with the opening by the presenter, showing the second day of the PKKMB FKIP UNS teaser, introducing UKM to the FKIP environment, and ending with the closing. The holding of this UKM expo was intended so that new students have an overview of activities outside of academic learning that can be followed while they are students.

Before the UKM introduction event started, the presenter gave an explanation about UKM. According to him, UKM is an organization or place to channel students’ interests and talents with the aim of making students skilled in various fields.

“The Student Activity Unit aims to channel the interests and talents of students in FKIP which is expected that FKIP students are not only skilled in the academic field, but also in other fields,” said the presenter.

The activity continued with the core activity, namely the introduction of UKM in the UNS FKIP environment. Meanwhile, the UKM involved are the Education Study Circle (LSP), namely the UKM involved in the field of reasoning and science, Brahmahardhika, the UKM in the field of nature lovers, the Regional Arts Development Unit (UPKD) which is engaged in regional arts, the Islamic Activity Center (SKI) FKIP UNS, namely UKM engaged in Islamic spirituality.

Furthermore, the introduction of Theater Platform, which is a UKM that is engaged in staging dramas or plays. Then, KMK FKIP UNS or Catholic Student Family UKM. Followed by the Student Press Institute (LPM) Motivation, namely the journalistic UKM or the student press of FKIP UNS. Then, there was PMK or UKM Christian Student Fellowship which is intended for Christian students in the UNS FKIP environment. Continued, Vox Magistra is a student choir UKM. There was also the introduction of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FKIP UNS and the Student Council (DEMA) of FKIP UNS.


The activity ended with the closing and singing of the Mijil song by Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Si. as Deputy Dean I of FKIP UNS who closed the series of PKKMB FKIP UNS 2021 activities. In this closing activity, Prof. Slamet congratulated the new students for joining the family of FKIP UNS.

“Congratulations on being a part of FKIP UNS! With this new status, previously students became students, helping to encourage the spirit of the younger siblings to be better, more active, have global insight, be locally cultured, uphold politeness, and be able to make FKIP UNS proud,” said Prof. Slamet.
