FKIP – Democratic Study Program Student Association (HMP) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Student Creativity Program (PKM) Workshop through Zoom Cloud Meeting on Saturday (30/8/2021). This workshop took the theme “Optimizing the Potential for Innovation and Student Creativity Towards the 35th PIMNAS”.
The event, which was moderated by Aji Pamungkas, presented two speakers, namely Arini Nurfadilah as Head of Public Relations of the UNS PKM Center 2021 and Dr. Rima Vien Permata Hartanto, S.H., M.H. as Lecturer of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) FKIP UNS. The workshop was opened by Dr. Muhammad Hendri Nuryadi, S.Pd., M.Sc. as the builder of the Democratic HMP. Before the event started, Aji gave several introductory narrations that emphasized that the theme this time were three key things that students must possess in order to be successful in PKM funding.
The first speaker, Arini Nurfadilah, explained the types of PKM that exist and the 2021 UNS PKM track record which shows that the percentage of funding for PKM submissions from FKIP is still relatively low compared to other faculties. This is one of the reasons why this workshop is important so that it is hoped that the percentage will increase in the following year.
She also explained that reasoning activities through PKM at UNS had received synergies and facilities from various parties. One of them is the UNS PKM Center which provides facilities to students in the form of mentoring, PKM posts, workshops, work bank facilities, and consultations.
In addition, Arini also provides an overview of what students can do to prepare for the submission of the 2022 UNS PIM proposal. She provides examples of proposals that have passed the 33 National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) as a reference for participants to develop ideas. Ideas that not only follow trends, but are also full of creativity obtained from lectures.

“Your ideas must start from the existing problems. You can do this by reviewing the sources of ideas by maximizing the five senses, literature studies, research and experience. Then the idea can be compiled with the ATM system (observe, imitate, and modify),” explained Arini.
The second presentation of the material was delivered by Dr. Rima. The material he presented was about what ideas could be extracted from the PPKn study for PKM.
Dr. Rima gave a more detailed explanation of the basic concepts, objectives, types of PKM to how to find ideas, and strengthened what was explained by the previous speaker.
“We can get smart, innovative, and creative ideas from anywhere. In my opinion, there are six ways, namely through research reports, seminars and discussions, statements of policy holders, observations, personal experiences, and internet browsing,” she explained.
Dr. Rima also provides various examples of citizenship themes that can be used as sources of ideas for writing PKM proposals, including digital citizenship, fulfilling citizens’ rights, terrorism, access to justice, and environmental issues. He ended his material presentation session by sharing his experiences while accompanying PPKn students who passed PIMNAS 31 at Yogyakarta State University.
