FKIP – Students who are carrying out Real Work Lectures (KKN) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held direct socialization of the importance of education for children in Kalibeji Village on Sunday (22/8/2021).

Attended by 30 participants who are members of the Kalibeji Village Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK), the activity was opened with remarks by the coordinator of the UNS 99 KKN Group, namely Sigit Santoso.

“We as students feel that it is very important to convey socialization about children’s education so that parents have careful planning for their children’s future,” said Sigit in his speech.

Presenting speakers Sungaidi, M.Pd. as the supervisor of the Education and Culture Office of Kebumen Regency, the material presented was entitled “Hacking the Road to a Characterized and Dignified Indonesia”. The material begins with an interactive discussion with the socialization participants.

Sungaidi explained that it is more difficult to build a brain than to build a house.

“Building a house only takes a year at most. However, it takes a long time to build our children’s brains to be civilized,” explained Sungaidi.

Furthermore, Sungaidi explained that the human brain is like a bare tree that should be given fertilizer and watered to grow thick leaves and fruit.

“Our child’s brain is like a bare tree. If watered and fertilized well. Later the results will also be good,” explained Sungaidi.

Sungaidi also explains the skills that must be mastered in the 21st century. These skills are expected to be a provision for children so that they are not isolated in the future.

“There are many new skills that children must master in the 21st century because we are no longer compete with fellow humans again, but with robots,” said Sungaidi.

At the end of his presentation, Sungaidi said that education does require special costs. However, this can be circumvented by the government’s educational assistance program.

“Mothers should not forbid their children to continue their education just because of financial constraints. Currently, many scholarships are provided by the government. There are BOS, KIP, and Bidikmisi funds,” concluded Sungaidi.
