FKIP – The Coordinating Committee for Research Development and Community Service (KPPM) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a webinar entitled “Peeling Completely P2M Research Assistant” on Tuesday (3/8/2021) through an application Zoom Meeting.

Moderated by Yosafat Hermawan Trinugraha, S.Sos., M.A., Ph.D., the webinar began with remarks from Dr. eng. Nugroho Agung Pambudi, M. Eng. as the coordinator of P2M FKIP UNS. In his speech, he explained the reason for holding this webinar as a series of KPPM FKIP UNS events. Meanwhile, the urgency of holding this webinar was that the lecturers were busy implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education so that which requires student collaboration to increase research productivity.

“This event is a series of 12 events that have been organized by KPPM FKIP UNS. Initially, this activity was initiated because of the busyness of Mr. and Mrs. lecturers in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, including research. Therefore, a breakthrough is needed, namely collaboration between students, both undergraduates and postgraduates in conducting research and community service. The end is to increase research productivity, which is indicated by indicators of increasing scientific publications and various other activities, ” Agung explained.

The event continued with remarks and the official opening of the webinar by Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc., as Deputy Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS. In his speech, he explained the importance of research for lecturers.

“If we only teach to fulfill the first Tri Dharma of Higher Education, apparently we will have big obstacles. However, then when we follow up with research, that is where you can enrich the materials in learning,” Prof. Subiyantoro explained.

Furthermore, there was a presentation of material from the speakers which was divided into two sessions. Meanwhile, who acted as a speaker in the presentation of the initial material was Prof. Drs. Cari, M.A., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Dr. Nur Arifah Drajati, M.Pd.

In his presentation, Prof. Cari explained the travel scheme showing that the Tri Dharma of Higher Education is owned by lecturers and students, guidelines for the UNS Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), and examples of student collaboration research results. Meanwhile, Nur explained her experience as a research assistant, research assistant assignments, research funds, the benefits of research assistants, and anyone who can become a research assistant. The presentation of session one material ended with a question and answer session.

The presentation of the second session material which was still moderated by Yosafat, presented a research assistant, namely Hilda Rakerda, M.Pd. and Eric Dheva Tachta A., S.Pd. Hilda explained the activities of a research assistant to the benefits of being a research assistant. Followed by Erik who explained the right choice to become a UNS student, the benefits of being a research assistant, to examples of the results of his research. The presentation of the second session also ended with a question and answer session.
