FKIP – Responding to the government’s program of Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), the MBKM Unit of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a MBKM socialization entitled “UNS Builds Villages”. This socialization event was held on Monday ( 2/8/2021) with the participation of all FKIP UNS students.

This activity presented two speakers, namely Dr. Tri Murwaningsih, M.Sc. as the Head of the MBKM FKIP UNS Unit and Prof. Dr. Leo Agung S., M.Pd. as the Head of the Integrated Education Practice Management Unit (UP2KT) FKIP UNS, moderated by Prof. Dr. Suciati, M.Pd. as the UNS MBKM Coordinator to Build Villages.

The Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. explained in his speech, that the socialization organized by the MBKM Unit was very helpful for the faculty so that the MBKM programs could really be captured by students. He hopes that with a lot of socialization, students will be more enlightened so that programs related to MBKM can be followed because they will be very useful for students after graduation.

“Students must prepare themselves to take the activities in the MBKM program, so it is hoped that after graduating students will at least bring the first diploma, the second transcript of the grades, the third SKPI, the fourth certificate to follow a minimum of 20 credits. Also, if possible later there will be a certification of expertise or professional certification issued from the Professional Certification Institute,” he explained.

Head of the MBKM FKIP UNS Unit, Dr. Tri Murwaningsih, M.Sc. explained material related to MBKM which consists of four programs, namely the opening of new Study Programs, the Higher Education accreditation system, State Universities with Legal Entities (PTN-BH), and the right to study for three semesters outside the Study Program. He also explained that the MBKM program is not only for the class of 2020 because the curriculum of all study programs at FKIP has been reconstructed.

“In 2020, it is announced that we have reconstructed the curriculum. All curricula in the FKIP Study Program have all been deposited with LPPMP, reviewed, given grades,” said Dr. Tri.

In addition, the Head of UP2KT FKIP UNS, Prof. Dr. Leo Agung S., M.Pd. claimed to have consulted with Vice-Chancellor 1 regarding the implementation of the UNS Village Building program associated with the Introduction to School Fields (PLP) and Real Work Lectures (KKN). He also believes that FKIP UNS students will be able to carry out PLP and build villages.

“The point is, we from FKIP will be able to carry out PLP and that’s where we can build villages. Related to that, I believe that FKIP students can fulfill what the faculties have called for MBKM which must reach 20 credits,” said Prof. Leo.
