FKIP – Deputy Dean 1 for Academic, Research and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held socialization of the new format Semester Learning Plan (RPS) by the Learning System Development Center team-Educational Development and Quality Assurance Institution (PPSP-LPPMP) UNS online via Zoom Cloud Meeting. Moderated by Tri Murwaningsih, this socialization presented two speakers, namely Dr. Sasmini, S.H., LL.M. and Dr. Sarwanto, S.Pd., M.Pd. on Friday (27/8/2021).
In the welcoming session, Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Si. as Deputy Dean 1 for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS explained that the implementation of the improvement of the new RPS format was a form of adjusting the conditions and spirit of implementing the Independent Learning-Independent Campus (MBKM) in improving the quality of learning. He hopes that this new RPS format can be well integrated.

“Hopefully, this new RPS format can be well integrated so that it can achieve the 7th IKU (Key Performance Indicator) which is a collaborative and participatory class,” explained Prof. Slamet.
The first material presentation session was delivered by Dr. Sasmini, S.H., LL.M. as the Coordinator of PPSP UNS Learning Methods and Media. Dr. Sasmini started her presentation of the material by explaining the various difficulties that the PPSP UNS team was facing with the Information and Communication Technology Technical Implementation Unit (UPT TIK) in reporting the achievements of the 7th Key Performance Indicators (KPI), as well as the background why it was necessary to improve the RPS.
According to his presentation, with various considerations, LPPMP finally developed a new RPS template format to match the Outcome-Based Education (OBC) and university KPI components. Although there are some additional points, the new RPS format is inseparable from the provisions in Permendikbud Number 3 of 2020 Article 12 paragraph (3).
The presentation of the material was followed by a simulation of filling out the learning monitoring on the siakad.uns.ac.id page, as well as providing examples of RPS that were in accordance with the new format whose assessment bases must include case-based and project-based learning methods. It also confirms that in this new format RPS there is no default template.
Furthermore, the second session was delivered by Dr. Sarwanto, S.Pd., M.Pd. as the Coordinator of the LPPMP UNS Curriculum. He gave a more detailed explanation of the new RPS format and provided an overview to the lecturers of why the RPS needed reconstruction or changes.
“One measure of KPI is a collaborative and participatory class. Here, lecturers’ contributions are needed in achieving the KPI, one way is through the improvement of the RPS. If the RPS can be prepared and implemented properly, it is hoped that when the RPS is accredited, the new format can clearly support student output and outcomes,” he explained.

On the other hand, Dr. Sarwanto also provided a more detailed explanation of the online learning method applied in the RPS which consisted of synchronous and asynchronous activities while still taking into account the number of Semester Credit Units (SKS) and their time allocation.
The socialization activity ended with a question and answer session and was closed by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. He invited the audience to jointly improve the curriculum and adapt the making of RPS to their respective conditions.
“Let’s improve the curriculum together and please make this RPS according to individual conditions,” he said.
