FKIP – The Integrated Education Practice Implementation Unit (UP2KT) of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a School Field Introduction (PLP) debriefing for seventh-semester students via Zoom Cloud Meeting and broadcast live on FKIP’s official Youtube channel on Friday (27/8/2021).
The activity began with remarks and an official opening by Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si., as the Dean of FKIP UNS. Dr. Mardiyana said that students need to know the original conditions in the school.

“Hopefully, students can learn a lot here (at school), then look for alternatives to solve problems that exist at school, so that the competencies possessed by students will be complete,” said Dr. Mardiyana in his speech.
The first speaker, Prof. Dr. Leo Agung S., M.Pd. as the Chair of UP2KT FKIP UNS delivered the material for the 2021 PLP briefing. At the beginning of the material, Prof. Leo conveyed a timeline of PLP activities and objectives. He also explained the indicators of professional teachers.
“There are seven indicators of professional teachers, namely having good teaching skills, having broad insight, professional attitude, mastering technology, mastering the curriculum, having a good personality, and being a good role model,” explained Prof. Leo.
Prof. Leo also conveyed the stages of practice carried out by students during PLP.
“The first practical activity is field observation. Then, a tutoring model with the hope that students can observe how teachers teach in class. Then, guided practice, then independent practice. In the end, students take a teaching practice exam in a predetermined class,” said Prof. Leo.
At the end of the presentation, Prof. Leo conveyed the rules and obligations of students while carrying out PLP.
“I am sure that FKIP UNS students will obey all existing regulations. But, if someone violates it, they will be subject to sanctions starting from a warning to the last one not getting a point, ” explained Prof. Leo.

The second speaker, Prof. Dr. Suciati, M.Pd. as Secretary of the Work Committee for the Development of Ethics, Identity, and National Civilization, provided material on student ethics in participating in PLP. At the beginning of the material, Prof. Suci conveyed the nature of ethics, the legal basis of PLP, and the procession of PLP activities.
“This PLP is an important activity so it is covered by several legal rules,” explained Prof. Suci.
Prof. Suci conveyed three ethical aspects in PLP. These aspects were in terms of appearance, communication, and association.
“There are three ethical aspects in PLP, namely in appearance, communication, and association,” said Prof. Suci.
According to her, in appearance, students are expected not to choose the wrong clothes, makeup, and accessories. Suci also conveyed ethics when communicating, driving, and time management.
