FKIP – Student of the Fine Arts Education Study Program (PSR) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta, Alif Sholihin won 1st place in the International Poster Competition in the World Population Day Competition held by Live For Literacy. Live For Literacy is a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating illiteracy based in Canada.

In the competition, Alif carried a poster titled Manage Our Population. Alif explained that the poster contains an invitation to maintain the development of the human population. He hopes that the poster will make people more aware of the importance of maintaining and controlling population development in the world, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The Manage Our Population poster is a representation of an invitation to maintain the development of the human population, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. If the current human population increases, more people will be threatened with exposure. Hopefully, this poster raises public awareness to maintain this, ” explained Alif.

Previously, Alif also won 2nd place in International Illustration in the International Biodiversity Competition organized by Live For Literacy. Carrying an illustration titled Let’s Save Endangered Tiger and Forest, he invites the public to be aware of the urgency of maintaining biological diversity in Indonesia, especially the Sumatran tiger and Indonesian forests.

In the future, he hopes that these two achievements will not be his last at UNS. He also hopes that this achievement can be an inspiration and enthusiasm for UNS students, especially for FKIP students.

“Although I graduated in October 2021, hopefully this will not be my last achievement at UNS. I hope this achievement will inspire other UNS students, especially FKIP students to continue to learn and take steps, either by competing, contributing, doing business, or other things. While still a student, let’s take advantage of this status,” Alif concluded.
