FKIP – Group 160 students who are members of the Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta Real Work Lecture (KKN) held a public seminar entitled “Prevention of Drug Abuse in Millennials and Observing the Impact of Early Marriage from Various Perspectives” on Sunday (29/08/2021 ) at Karangmojo Village Hall, Tasikmadu District, Karanganyar Regency by implementing health protocols.
The seminar was attended by the Deputy Regent of Karanganyar Regency, Head of the Karanganyar Regency National Unity and Political Agency (Kesbangpol), Head of Tasikmadu Subdistrict, Head of Karangmojo Village, and 30 representatives of local youth groups presented two speakers. Meanwhile, who acted as speakers in this seminar was AKBP. Drs. Triatmo Hamardiyono, M.Sc. as the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Surakarta and Anna Nugrahani as the Ambassador for Generation Planning (Genre Ambassador) Karanganyar Regency.
The seminar was opened with remarks by H. Rober Christanto, S.E. as Deputy Regent and Head of Prevention, Eradication of Abuse, and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics (P4GN) Karanganyar Regency. In his speech, he thanked the UNS KKN students who had innovated in making work programs for the benefit of the community. In addition, he also conveyed a message to the youth in Karangmojo Village to continue to contribute to advancing Karanganyar Regency through positive activities.
The activity continued with the presentation of material from the first speaker, namely AKBP. Drs. Triatmo Hamardiyono, M.Si. He explained the bad effects of using drugs and various positive activities that can keep away from the abuse of narcotics, psychotropics, and addictive substances (NAPZA), one of which is by exercising. At the end of his presentation, he emphasized that young people who were expected to be the spearhead of the nation’s hopes should not fall into these illicit goods.
“The demographic bonus that will be faced by Indonesia in the next ten years will only be in vain if many young people become drug users,” said Triatmo.
Then, the presentation of the material was continued by the second speaker, Anna Nugrahani. She explained that one of the problems that must be an important concern for the younger generation besides drug abuse is the negative impact of early marriage.
“Early marriage is in fact not as beautiful as what appears on social media, apart from the possibility of sexual and reproductive health problems, but it can also affect mental health. Starting from unstable emotions, being unable to take care of yourself, having to take on the role of parents, financial problems in the family, and others. These pressures will cause stress, depression, and even lead to suicide,” said Anna.
