FKIP – Physics Education Students, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Educational Sciences (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta won 3rd place at the National Essay Competition Science Week UNS 2021. Kusnul Khotimah, a student of Physics Education, and his colleague Safrudin Musthofa, a student of Agricultural Communication Extension at the Faculty of Agriculture 2019 proposed the idea of a Virtual Learning Concept in Development of Agrotourism “Javanis Park” in Puntukrejo Village, Karanganyar for Implementation of Integrated Sustainable Agriculture to Realize SDGs 2030.
The idea proposed is motivated by the birth of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era which resulted in information technology developing rapidly. It is used to facilitate human activities, one of which is used as an interactive learning medium. The concept of virtual learning in the development of agro-tourism is expected to provide new alternatives in the field of knowledge and even be able to run the tourism and business sectors.
In addition to utilizing technology, this idea is motivated by the current pandemic conditions that limit human interaction so that it can be used as an alternative in communicating. According to Kusnul, students as agents of change can collaborate with all parties through the ideas outlined. The idea given in this competition aims to achieve one of the SDGs goals, which is to promote sustainable agriculture.
The competition with the theme “Optimizing the Role of Indonesian Students in Efforts to Improve Human Resources through Post-Pandemic Science and Technology” is open for registration from August 16 – October 2. The announcement of the winners was made at the peak of the event, namely the national webinar on October 3, 2021.
Kusnul as the head of this team explained the stages he had to go through during the competition.
“We as participants make payments after registering. Then, we collect essays according to the provisions. Subsequently, the top 10 finalists were announced to proceed to the presentation stage. The presentation was made on October 2nd and announced on October 3rd,” explained Kusnul.
In the end, Kusnul conveyed his hopes and plans for the future to continue to contribute as a UNS student.
“Hopefully, our ideas can be realized and can be realized to bring UNS, society, and Indonesia towards goodness and progress. In the future, I plan to continue working in the field of essays or other competitions to make my alma mater,” concluded proud Kusnul.
