FKIP – Leap Program Team of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI) Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a practical lecture for fifth-semester students of PBSI FKIP UNS in the subjects of Print and Electronic Editing, Radio Broadcasting, and Electronic Journalism.
Held for five meetings starting on Thursday (22/9/2021), this activity brought together three practitioners who were relevant to the three elective courses. Regarding the implementation time, this activity adjusts to the lecture schedule for the three courses.

The practitioner who taught the Print and Electronic Editing course was Ivan Lanin. He is the Director of Narabahasa. Meanwhile, the practitioner who taught the Radio Broadcasting course was Sara Neyrbiza as the CEO of speaking.id. Meanwhile, for the Electronic Journalism course, the IKU PBSI FKIP UNS Leap Team presented practitioners from the Tribun News Team consisting of Aji Bramastra, Yudie Thirzano, Suut Amdani, and Krisna Sumargo.
Chafit Ulya, M.Pd. as the activity coordinator explained that the purpose of holding this practical lecture was to bring the campus world closer to the industrial world and develop student skills in practicing the three competencies of the three elective courses at PBSI FKIP UNS.
“The purpose of holding this practitioner lecture is, of course, first to bring the campus world closer to the industrial world. So, we hope that what is conveyed in lectures is relevant to the career development needs of students, so that they have alternative choices other than becoming Indonesian language teachers. Second, we want to improve student skills in practicing three competencies from elective courses at the PBSI FKIP UNS Study Program,” explained Chafit via WhatsApp message, Thursday (28/10/2021).
Chafit also explained that this practitioner’s lecture is expected to be a means of establishing partnerships with practitioners in the creative industry. Furthermore, he hopes that the partnership can become a link for students to carry out competency internships that strengthen the skills of the three selected PBSI FKIP UNS courses.
“Hopefully with this practitioner lecture, we can establish partnerships with practitioners in the creative industry. This is one of the targets set by the IKU program. The ongoing partnership is expected to be a link for students, especially those taking elective courses at PBSI FKIP UNS to carry out competency internships. With this, students can strengthen their skills, so that in the future, they will be able to engage in actual internships, ” Chafit concluded.
