FKIP – Guidance and Counseling Student Association (Himabiko) The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held the 7th national Guidance and counseling project webinar with the theme “Care and Dedication Based on Love” on Saturday (11/13/2021).

The event was opened directly by Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. as dean of FKIP UNS. In his speech, Mardiyana conveyed the relevance of this webinar activity to the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program.

“I think the theme chosen is very appropriate for solving current problems so that later the knowledge provided by the speakers can be applied by younger students to do community service so that they contribute to solving problems that exist in society. This activity can also be linked to the independent campus learning program, I think this is very relevant,” explained Mardiyana.

Yulia Sahaja, DP, M.Psi., Psychologist, a Clinical psychologist and founder of @ypsychologist.id delivered the material with the title “Talk About Care and Dedication Based on Love Working from Heart to Heart”.

“Working from heart to heart is when we do it from the heart, so what is expected back is not material but true happiness,” said Yulia at the beginning of her presentation.

Then, Yulia conveyed the difference between sympathy and caring, the reason humans must have caring nature, and the importance of caring. In addition, Yulia also delivered the material with several stories that matched the material. Yulia also conveyed about caring in dedicated dedication from the heart.

“Working with your heart is the same as working by using all the facilities you have,” said Yulia.

Yulia’s presentation ended with a closing statement, a quote from Maya Angelou.

“That people can forget what we say, people can forget what we did, but people will not be able to forget, how we make them feel,” concluded Yulia.

Next, Deska Triani Arifin, a mental health promoter and influencer, started her interactive presentation by asking the participants’ feelings over the past year (pandemic).

Then, Deska explained the psychological impact during a pandemic, the importance of caring during a pandemic, the benefits of caring for oneself, others, and the environment, and how to cultivate caring for others.

The presentation from Deska ended with a closing statement and continued with a question and answer session for the two speakers as a closing.

“When we help others, we are helping ourselves. Trust me, God will repay your kindness with something more beautiful,” concluded Deska.
