FKIP – Study Program Student Association (HMP) Gravitational Physics Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held graphic design training for general students on Sunday (28/11/2021). This activity carried the theme “Design Your Dream, Share Your Inspiration.”

This activity presented 1st Place Design Challenge by Plainthing Studio, Muhammad Fathurridlo as a speaker. The activity was moderated by a Physics Education student, Novita Ceicilia Ayu Laksita.

The activity began with remarks from the head of the Physics Education HMP, Muhammad Khairul Annam Najahy. In his remarks, he said that this activity was very important because the publication of activities during the pandemic required graphic design, so the activities needed to be followed as well as possible.

The activity continued with the delivery of material by Muhammad Fathurridlo. He delivered material on design as a media for campaign activities. In design, it is necessary to know various kinds or media

“Designs for media campaigns or publications of activities need to be understood in various ways. There are banners, banners, posters, flyers, and so on. Adjust the design to the needs of the activity,” said Fathur.

He continued to explain about the components in the media campaign.

“In an activity publication media, especially posters, generally the components contained in the poster are the name of the organizer, the title of the activity, the sub-theme of the activity, the names of the speakers, the place of implementation, the time of the activity, the activity platform, links, contact persons, benefits of participating in the activity, and sponsors. activities if any,” continued Fathur.

Fathurridlo added material on tips in designing campaign media for publication of activities.

“To design an activity publication media, it is necessary to pay attention to several tips, such as determining the big theme first, being consistent, adjusting to the target audience, and being measurable,” said Fathur.

Making a publication design needs to ensure that the content to be created is correct because it will determine the composition in a design. Adjustment to the target audience, meaning that the design made must consider the type of activity, for example, designs with the use of bright colors are generally used for fun activities.

Furthermore, the activity was continued with a simulation of making designs through figma. Fadhil conveyed the advantages of figma media for design, among others, it can be used for many purposes, can be used as a team, has many features, and the application is free. The activity ended with a question and answer session, discussion, and a group photo.
