FKIP – The Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a national webinar entitled “Strategies for Understanding the Value of Deliberation in the Industrial Age 4.0 to Prevent Radical Terrorism”. In collaboration with the Center for the Study of Radicalism and Terrorism of the Education Quality Assurance and Development Institute (LPPMP) UNS Surakarta, this webinar was held online on Wednesday (11/17/2021) through the Zoom Meeting application.
Moderated by Mughofir and Ilmi Khoirunnisa as students of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS, the activity began with giving directions by Dr. Drs. Hassan Suryono, S.H., M.H., M.Pd. as the Head of the Center for Radicalism and Terrorism Studies at LPPMP UNS Surakarta. Then the event continued with the presentation of the material by the speakers.
The first speaker was Pipik Widiatmoko, S.Pd., M.Sc. He is a lecturer at the Pontianak State Islamic Institute (IAIN), West Kalimantan. She explained the material entitled “Practicing the Value of Consensus Deliberation to Prevent Radical Attitudes of Terrorism”. In her presentation, she explained that the anticipation of radical acts of terrorism can be done by fighting against radical attitudes of terrorism and upholding the values of deliberation.
“The way to anticipate radical acts of terrorism is the need for resistance to radical acts of terrorism. This can be done by declaring or spreading anti-radical terrorism terms. The second way is to uphold the values of deliberation. Deliberations that contain the values of justice, equality, and freedom can minimize radical understanding of terrorism,” explained Pipik.

The second speaker was Lintang Prima Cahyani. He is a student of Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS. He explained the material entitled “Implementation of Pancasila through Millennial Generation Actions to Fight Hoaxes Fertilizing Radicalism in the Industrial Era 4.0”. In his presentation, he explained the three roles of the younger generation in warding off hoaxes.
“We as the young generation have the potential to be easily influenced by hoax news considering that most of us are very active on the internet. Well, there are three ways our role as the younger generation can prevent hoaxes, namely making official accounts for discussion and dialect, and making easy comic memes. accepted by various groups, and participated in guarding the ITE Law,” explained Lintang.

The third speaker was Siva Aisyah Azuri. He is a student of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS. He explained the material entitled “Strengthening the Role of Students in Countering Radicalism and Terrorism through the Application of Pancasila”. In his presentation, he explained that students can play a role in supporting the efforts of universities to prevent acts of radicalism and terrorism.
“So, these students can play a role in supporting universities’ efforts to prevent acts of radicalism and terrorism. We can do this support in university activities, namely strengthening character education through Pancasila and Citizenship Education, Religious Education, Character Education, Multicultural Education, and involvement of student organizations,” explained Siva.
