FKIP – Students of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Kebumen Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a service program in Pucukan Hamlet, Bercong Village, Buluspesantren District, Kebumen Regency. The activity was held on Sunday (28/11/2021).
This activity was an advocacy department program compiled by the Kebumen PGSD Student Association. The activity was attended by dozens of participants. The implementation of this activity was motivated by the Covid-19 pandemic situation which caused education to not run optimally.
“This activity was carried out because we saw that the condition of education in Bercong Village was not as good and as good as in the city. In addition, the current condition of online learning makes it difficult for children to understand the subject matter presented by the teacher, so we want to help and advance the education of these children,” said Uchti Fitrianingsih, Head of the Advocacy Department of HIMA PGSD Kebumen.
In her presentation, Uchti explained that the service programs carried out were in the form of learning activities with students and game activities.
“The community service activity for PGSD Kebumen 2021 is in the form of joint learning activities with students who are members of the HIMA PGSD Kebumen. In addition to learning activities, game activities are also carried out with the intention that children do not feel bored in the learning process and become a means of refreshing before the end of semester assessment,” continued Uchti.

Uchti added that the target for this activity is that children have a better level of understanding of the material.
“It’s nice to be able to learn and play with the children of Bercong Village. This fosters a sense of community and family. Hopefully, with this activity the children will understand more about school material and gain useful knowledge for the future,” continued Uchti.
At the end of the interview, Uchti conveyed her hopes for other prospective educators.
“As prospective teachers, I hope that FKIP students can make similar activities so that students can play a role in helping educational issues, especially children’s education. In the end, students also learn and get used to the educational process,” concluded Uchti.
It was said that this activity also cooperated with local hamlet officials so that it could be carried out well.
