FKIP – Economic Education Study Program The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held training on making learning media based on video scribe sparkol at SMP Negeri 3 Nguter, Sukoharjo on Thursday (17/6/2021).

This community service activity is carried out by a team of lecturers from the Economic Education Study Program who are members of the Education Policy Research Group. This team is led by Dr. Hery Sawiji, M.Pd. with four members, namely Prof. Dr. Baedhowi, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Trisno Martono, MM, Salman Alfarisy Totalia, S.Pd., M.Sc., and Dini Oktoria, S.Pd., M.Pd. This training activity was carried out to support the distance learning model at SMP Negeri 3 Nguter.

Suyoto, S.Pd. as the principal of SMP Negeri 3 Nguter welcomed the presence of a team of lecturers from Economic Education FKIP UNS.

“Welcome to SMP Negeri 3 Nguter, Sukoharjo Regency,” said Suyoto.

The core session began with an introduction to the training participants about the video scribe sparkol application. Videoscribe sparkol is software that can easily be used to create animated designs on a white background.

“This application can also be used to explain economic material because it is provided in three forms. You just have to choose. However, if the teacher feels that the material you want to convey is not there, the teacher can also download the image on the internet first, “said Salman.

The team hopes that with this video scribe sparkol learning media, teachers can present more interesting material and not use too long text.

“If it’s just running writing, pictures, or writing that is too long, it will be monotonous when it’s used for too long. It needs something more content or variety than that,” explained Salman.

After being explained the videoscribe sparkol application, the trainees were directed to practice directly making learning media using the application.

“So, indeed, teachers should start trying to be familiar with current technological developments,” said Salman.
