FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta received a comparative study visit from FKIP Tadulako University (UNTAD) Palu on Thursday (9/12/2021). Located in the Meeting Room of FKIP UNS Building F, the visit went smoothly.
This activity was attended by a group from FKIP UNTAD, namely the Coordinator of the History Education Study Program (Prodi), Dr. Mahfud M. Gamar, Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Iskandar Ahmad, Lecturer and Head of Historical Education LED, Windayanti, M.Pd., Quality Control Group, Ismail, M.Pd., and Lecturer of Historical Education, Dr. Hassan.
The FKIP UNTAD delegation was welcomed directly by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. accompanied by the Deputy Dean of Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS namely Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, Deputy Dean of Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics Dr. Dewi Kusuma Wardani, Deputy Dean of Planning, Business Cooperation, and Information Dr. Djono, representatives of several supporting units, and the Head of the History Education Study Program (Kaprodi), Dr. Sutiyah and lecturer in History Education Study Program at FKIP UNS.
This visit was carried out in the context of cooperation between the two parties to improve productivity, performance, and quality of education at FKIP. Dr. Djono hopes that this activity can be a space to learn from each other.
“Hopefully, we will learn from each other together to be able to take the wisdom of the perspectives that exist between us. I don’t think any of us is the highest, no one is the lowest. We are together,” said Dr. Djono.
Coordinator of the History Education Study Program, Dr. Mahfud conveyed the intent and purpose of the visit to prepare for this one-year accreditation.
“In the next year we are preparing ourselves for accreditation and in fact, several years ago, we should have been able to obtain A prior accreditation, but there are several different perceptions so that we have not been able to fulfill it,” said Dr. Mahfud.
Dr. Mahfud added that there were opportunities that need improvement.
“According to quality assurance, we have opportunities for that because we have human resources who on average are already doctors, and then the writing is also rich, so it’s just a matter of what to add later,” he added.
In his speech, Dr. Mardiyana said that 32 State FKIPs throughout Indonesia which subsequently formed communication forum has agreed to help each other and learn together.
“State FKIPs throughout Indonesia from 32 State FKIPs throughout Indonesia have agreed to study together, we help each other if there are some of our friends who need help, so that in this case with this benchmarking we can learn together, ” Dr. Mardiyana explained.
The event was followed by a core activity in the form of delivering campus profiles by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, starting from the vision and mission, organizational structure, support units, key performance indicators, the achievement of the 2020 Key Performance Indicators (IKU), professional certification bodies, quality assurance structures, internal accreditation targets, campus location deployment, to facilities and infrastructure at FKIP UNS. The event ended with the signing of collaboration and a group photo between FKIP UNS and FKIP UNTAD.
