FKIP – Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta in collaboration with the Guidance and Counseling Teachers Consultation (MGBK) Surakarta City held a technology-based creative counseling training webinar for BK teachers for Junior High Schools (SMP) in Surakarta online on Friday (3/12/2021).

The event was hosted by Shodiq Anshori who is a student of the 2018 BK Study Program. The first speaker, Dr. Ribut Purwaningrum, M.Pd. who is a BK FKIP UNS lecturer and trainer carrier CDC UNS counseling corbid. In her presentation, the woman who is familiarly called Naning explained the material entitled “Creative Counseling for Counseling Teachers: New Ideas for Developing Application Needs Insights for Counseling Teachers”.

“Many of us are crazy because we follow too many patterns, requirements, and certain productivity standards. Using creativity in counseling can erode madness because the patterns are already formed in a fun way,” said Naning.

Naning explained about the difficulties of professional helpers in using creativity and recommended activities that can be used as therapy, such as gardening, writing, cooking, music, drawing, and decoration.

Then, Naning explained about the stages of creative counseling.

“The most important thing is to understand the stages of creative counseling. The first stage, preparation. Second, concentration. Third, incubation. Fourth, illumination (aha stage). Fifth, verification and elaboration,” explained Naning.

The second speaker, Agus Tri Susilo, M.Pd. who is a BK lecturer, head of the UNS BK laboratory, and the founder of Omah Konseling. In his presentation, Agus started with the material on how to build relationships with students.

“There are several stages. First, rapport to build a good relationship with the counselee and understand his world. Second, contract, namely making an agreement to achieve productive and effective counseling. Third, the focus is that counseling is carried out creatively. Fourth, funnel which is the proper use of theory. Fifth, close, namely reaching conclusions and making decisions by the counselee, “said Agus.

Furthermore, Agus explained the techniques and media of counseling and the stages of approach using image media. Agus also practiced directly with the webinar participants. This training webinar activity ended with a question and answer session and a conclusion from the moderator.
