FKIP – Curriculum Vitae (CV) is one of the keys for applicants to enter the world of work. Seeing the importance factor of CV in the professional world, the English Student Association (ESA) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Design Training activity with the theme “Build Your Career Path through Amazing CV” on Saturday (7/11). /2021).
Dwi Fajar as the Head of ESA FKIP UNS said that this activity is very important, especially for students who can later be used to apply for jobs and internships. Dwi analogizes CV as a key to enter the future house, so it is necessary to prepare a good key from now on.
“The CV is something that we can say when we enter the world of work or the professional world, it becomes a key when we enter our future home, so if our key doesn’t fit into the hole, we won’t be able to enter it, we have to be prepared. with a good key,” he said.
On this occasion, Irvandias Sanjaya as a resource person explained the importance of a CV for applicants. According to him, the purpose of making a CV is one, namely getting a call for an interview.
“There are many things out there that then make us have to rethink about what ultimately becomes a form of evaluating a CV that is considered good so that we can be called for interviews and all kinds of things,” he said.

The man who serves as an Associate Coach at Home Ready to Work said that in making a CV it is necessary to have honesty and a good self-introduction that is brief, concise, and clear, and do not assume that a good CV is seen from its design.
“I always believe that simplicity is the best, things that are simple, not too messy, not too fussy, I think it’s one thing that has good taste,” he said.
Furthermore, Irvandias explained that 12 contents can be included in a CV. The content includes personal details or general information, education, achievement, working experience, voluntary, research activities, international experience, community development, training, committee, published writing, and language proficiency. According to him, not all of them have to be present, but these 12 contents can be included in the CV according to the job criteria.
“If you have all of them, that’s great, but if you don’t have all of them, that’s okay,” he explained.
At the end of the presentation, Irvandias emphasized that he should pay more attention to the content that will be included in the CV rather than thinking about how the design is used.
“Believe me, you want your CV to be as good as the layout, but the bad content won’t be seen. It’s better to have a CV with a bad layout but good content, it’s even better. Don’t think about a good layout first but think about what content to include,” he stressed.
