FKIP – Office Administration Education Study Program (PAP) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Session 1 International Education Practitioner Lecture with the theme “Dual Vocational Education”. This activity was held online through the Zoom Meeting application on Friday (12/3/2021).
Moderated by Anton Subarno, Ph.D. as a PAP FKIP UNS Lecturer, this activity presented one speaker. Meanwhile, the speaker were Rangsan Thepmondhri, Ph.D. He is the Central Coordinator of the Commission for Higher and Vocational Education International Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (UNESCO-UNEVOC).

In this activity, Rangsan presented a material entitled “Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Development for Human Resource Development”. In his presentation, he explained the process and strategy towards Thailand 4.0, the development of vocational education, adaptation and change of the Ohio Valley Electric Corporation (OVEC) towards Thailand 4.0, to how to implement the TVET learning strategy.
According to Rangsan, the development of vocational education can be done by implementing a vocational or vocational curriculum. He added that the existence of the curriculum can generate and develop a workforce to serve the needs of the country.
“The development of vocational education can be done by implementing a strategy, namely a vocational or vocational curriculum. This curriculum will later become a mechanism to produce and develop a workforce with appropriate competencies. In addition, this curriculum can also link between educational qualifications and the framework of professional qualifications,” said Rangsan.
At the end of his presentation session, Rangsan explained how to apply TVET to produce the quality and quantity of vocational students required by the market.
“To produce the quality and quantity of vocational students required by the market, we must know how to apply TVET. Each level has a different outcome. At the undergraduate level, we are required to increase the number of TVET students. the quality of TVET to meet international standards. Meanwhile, for the doctoral level, we must improve the efficiency of TVET management and the master’s degree must promote the private sector as a TVET partner,” Rangsan concluded.
