FKIP – Dharma Wanita Faculty of Teacher Training and Science Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held an offline blood donation activity in the Hall of Building F FKIP UNS on Wednesday (12/1/2022). In this activity, Dharma Wanita collaborated with the UNS Medical Center, the UNS Voluntary Corps (KSR), the Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) Surakarta.

This blood donation activity is a routine activity every month organized by UNS. The activity is held every 11th or close to commemorate UNS’s birthday. The place of implementation is in different faculties every month.

Yuli Astuti as the chief executive said that the number of donors who participated in this blood donation activity was the largest compared to participants in previous faculties.

“Alhamdulillah, according to the information I received, yesterday’s FKIP was a success. The donors are the most compared to donors in previous faculties, “explained Yuli Astuti when interviewed by Tim.fkip.uns.ac.id on Wednesday (19/1/2022).

Yuli Astuti also said that blood donor participant came from various elements.

“Thank God the blood donor participants came from various elements, ranging from educators, employees, students, and parties outside FKIP UNS, including the community,” said Yuli Astuti.

Then, Yuli Astuti also conveyed the series of activities that took place.

“Yesterday we invited Prof. Jamal as the Chancellor of UNS. So, the activity was opened directly by him and continued with blood donation activities, “explained Yuli Astuti.

Furthermore, Yuli Astuti conveyed the purpose of this routine blood donation.

“This activity has been around since September 2021. The main objective is of course to collect blood and plasma, which may be needed. Not only during the pandemic, hopefully, but this activity will also continue after the pandemic is over. Because there are a lot of participants,” concluded Yuli Astuti.

In the end, Yuli Astuti expressed hope for blood donation activities that will be carried out in the future.

“Hopefully it can be combined with the student agenda so that no two activities are the same. So, hopefully, there will be more participants,” concluded Yuli Astuti.
