FKIP – Students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) ) The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) University (UNS) Surakarta managed to win the election of the Generation Planned Ambassador (GenRe), which became the 2nd Hope Champion at the Central Java Province Level. The student who succeeded in becoming a GenRe Ambassador was named Jihan Ashilla (FKIP/2019).

The activity organized by the Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) was attended by 30 pairs of district/city representatives throughout Central Java. The representatives are selected through selection at the district/city level by the relevant agencies. Jihan said that the selection of these ambassadors went through a series of rigorous selections, including written tests, interviews, public tests, talent interests, deep interviews, advocacy tests, and debriefing for the grand final.

“The selection process for GenRe ambassadors went through various stages of selection such as written tests, interviews, public tests, interest in talent, deep interviews, advocacy tests, and quarantine for debriefing towards the grand final,” said Jihan when met by the fkip.uns.ac.id team on Friday. Jihan also explained that the selection of GenRe Ambassadors was intended to find role models in campaigning for a planned life.

“The selection of these ambassadors is to find a role model that is the right hand of the government (BKKBN) in improving the quality of providing access to information and education on how to plan a planned life,” continued Jihan.

Jihan, who is also the 1st Winner of the GenRe Ambassador for Surakarta City, added that the task carried out by the GenRe Ambassador was to socialize the three main issues (TRIAD) of adolescent reproductive health (KRR).

“The task of the GenRe Ambassador is to promote efforts to avoid TRIAD KRR, to instill in each one the meaning of healthy youth, great youth, achievement, and noble character, as well as to inspire and be inspired. Then, socialize to peers and the community regarding coaching in the family, including adolescent health,” said Jihan.

Jihan also conveyed his impression of winning this ambassador election.

“The impression of winning this election was surprising, did not expect it, because the intention was only to do the best, but thank God, he was given a winning bonus and happy to be given an extraordinary mandate,” explained Jihan.

At the end of the interview, Jihan also expressed his hopes for the future.

“Hopefully, GenRe Ambassadors can be a good role model for the community, especially teenagers in Solo City and Central Java Province. And, it can motivate them to be more productive, plan their lives as well as possible, avoid the KRR TRIAD, and be able to meet the demographic bonus,” concluded Jihan.
