FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Educational Sciences (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted the Working Meeting of Leaders of State FKIPs throughout Indonesia which was held at UNS Inn, Surakarta on Friday – Sunday (28 – 30/1/2022).

This activity has the theme “The Role of LPTKs in improving the Human Resources of Teachers and Education Personnel in the Distrubtion 4.0 of the 21st Century.” This activity presented the Acting Director of PPG, Temu Ismail, S.Pd., M.Si; Chairman of the Executive Board (PB) of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI), Prof. Dr. Unifah Rosyidi, M.Pd.; Director General (Dirjen) of Teachers and Education Personnel (GTK), Dr. Iwan Syahril, S.Ip., MA, Ed.M., Ph.D.; and the Director of the Independent Educational (Lamdik), Prof. Dr. Muklas Samani, M.Pd.

In this working meeting, the General Chairperson of PB PGRI delivered material on “Improving Teacher Integrity Towards a Golden Indonesia”. He said that the core of education is character education.

“The essence of education is character education, namely the character of integrity. This can be done by growing teacher competence through LPTKs,” explained Prof. Dr. Unifah.

Prof. Dr. Unifah also said that the PGRI institution has a set of tools to achieve teacher quality, including SLCC (Smart Learning and Character Center) and Teacher Learning Circle (LBG). In addition, PGRI also encourages LPTKs to become institutions that strengthen Indonesian teacher human resources.

“To create educators with integrity, PGRI has equipment such as SLCC and Teacher Learning Circle. PGRI also encourages LPTKs to become institutions that can strengthen the human resources of Indonesian education personnel,” continued Prof. Dr. Unifah.

The General Chair of PB PGRI who is also a Professor of UNJ said that to realize a golden and advanced Indonesia, the key is quality teachers. To achieve good teacher quality, of course, requires supportive regulations.

“In the design of realizing an advanced Indonesia, the key importance is quality teachers and supporting regulations,” continued Prof. Dr. Unifah.

At the end of the presentation, Prof. Dr. Unifah said that efforts to build an educational ecosystem with character are a shared responsibility.

“Building a quality education ecosystem is a shared responsibility, especially FKIP and LPTK. The focus is to educate to become smart and have character,” concluded Prof. Dr. Unifah.
