FKIP – Lecturer of Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta, Dr. Khundaru Saddhono, SS, M.Hum., won the World Top 100 Indonesian Scientist 2022 award. He occupies the 12th position out of 100 researchers in the social sciences, namely in the scope of linguistics and literature in Indonesia based on a ranking by the AD Scientific Index. With this achievement, he occupies the 1st position of researcher in the field of social science at UNS.

The ranking of the World Top 100 Indonesian Scientist 2022 by AD Scientific Index itself is based on the total score of the h-index, which is an index that measures the productivity and usefulness of the work published by a researcher. That is, the assessment is not only based on the number of scientific works produced, but also on the number of citations or quotations from these scientific works.

In the UNS FKIP Journalist Team, Dr. Khundaru said he was surprised by the ranking results. In addition, he is also happy because the many citations show that the scientific works he writes have an impact and benefit for others.

“I was initially surprised to find out the ranking results from other people. However, I feel happy because these results shows that the scientific works that I write are read by many people and then cite them. It means that the research I do and the ideas I write are useful for other people,” said Dr. Khundaru when contacted by the UNS FKIP Journalist Team, Monday (31/1/2022).

Dr. Khundaru explained that as a researcher, he has principles that he applies in conducting research. According to him, a researcher must have specifications and concept maps to develop his ideas and ideas.

“As a researcher, you should have principles that you must adhere to. First, a researcher must have specifications. By having specifications, a researcher will have a concept map in research. After having a concept map, researchers can develop their ideas according to what society needs and the demands of the times,” explained Dr. Khundaru.

Dr. Khundaru hopes that the 2022 World Top 100 Indonesian Scientist award that he received can motivate the academic community, especially at FKIP UNS, to improve research, both competitive and independent. By conducting research, researchers are required to research in the field which is later expected to provide benefits to the community.

“I hope that this achievement will motivate fellow academics, especially in the scope of FKIP UNS to improve their research competitively and independently. Publishing with research and without research is different. With research, we are required to conduct field research which is expected to provide benefits. In the current era, researchers are also required to collaborate so that the research carried out can have a more optimal impact, “said Dr. Khundaru.
