FKIP — The Working Meeting of Teachers and Educational Science Faculty Leaders (FKIP) throughout Indonesia with the theme “The Role of LPTKs in improving Human Resources for Teachers and Education Personnel in the Disruption 4.0 Era of the 21st Century” was officially opened. The opening was carried out by the Chancellor of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho which was held offline at UNS Inn and online via Zoom Meeting on Saturday (29/1/2022).

This activity is one of the activities of the working meeting of leaders of FKIP in Indonesia. This activity brought together the Deans or Deputy Deans of FKIP throughout Indonesia, and the Director of the Independent Accreditation Institute, the Directorate General of GTK, the Director of Teacher Professional Education (PPG), and the General Chairperson of PB PGRI discussed policies to improve the quality of teachers.

In his speech, Dr. Mardiyana as the chairman of the committee hopes that this activity can advance state FKIP institutions throughout Indonesia which have formed a communication forum to work together.

“We have a responsibility to improve the quality of teachers in Indonesia, hopefully this will be useful for all of us to advance state FKIP institutions throughout Indonesia, we really help each other work together, a symphony in togetherness among state FKIP institutions throughout Indonesia,” he hoped.

Prof. Dr. Mahdum, M.Pd. as the Chair of the Forkom said that this activity aims to equalize perceptions and strengthen the synergy of leaders of FKIPs throughout Indonesia to jointly develop the agenda for 2022.

“To equalize perceptions and strengthen the synergy of FKIP leaders throughout Indonesia, then in addition we are also formulating our agenda strategy for 2022,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Mahdum explained that there were four points in this discussion. Meanwhile, the four points are the role of Educational Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK), particularly in accelerating synergies regarding the return of lost learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, strengthening alternative synergies to deal with the Omicton wave, increasing competent 21st century teacher and student human resources. and industrial revolution 4.0, and increasing PPG organizers.

“From this activity, there are four points that we will discuss and we expect direction from the Director General of these four points so that we can carry out our activities well,” he explained.

Based on these points Prof. Dr. Mahdum hopes that teachers have creative thinking skills, numeracy skills, social awareness, and communication. Students also need to be given skills in the form of digital skills, creativity, and relationships.

“Of course we hope that our teachers in the future must have the power of literacy, of course creative thinking skills, numeracy skills, social awareness and communication. In addition, students need to be given some kind of strength, namely digital skills, creativity, and relationships,” he explained.

In his remarks, Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the Mayor of Surakarta welcomed this activity to produce important recommendations to improve the quality of teachers in Indonesia by providing education that is able to answer the needs of the environment and the world of work.

“I welcome the Communication Forum led by state FKIPs throughout Indonesia. This activity must produce important recommendations to improve the quality of teachers in Indonesia, the education we provide must really be able to answer the needs of the environment and the world of work,” he explained.

Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho always hopes that this forum will produce decisions that can improve the quality of Indonesian teachers and for study programs to get international accreditation.

“I really hope that this forum will make the communication forum between the Deans of FKIP PTN throughout Indonesia closer and better, at least able to improve the quality of teachers in Indonesia, at least for study programs to agree together to get international certification accreditation,” said Prof. Jamal.
