FKIP – Students participating in the Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Real Work Lecture (KKN) Surakarta who are members of the Group 106 KKN UNS held a socialization on the use of the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Ponowaren Village, Tawangsari District, Sukoharjo Regency on Saturday (19/2/2022) by implementing health protocols. They are Mohammad Oryza Brilianto, Mohamad Nisman Faqih, Abygail Guson Budiono, Bagus Indramukti, Elli Hasbi Sahaq, Fitrandi Rahayu, Inge Hilya, Muthia Nafisa, Ringga Nur Fitria, and Maudhiya Ayu Prabandaru.
When contacted by the UNS FKIP journalist team on Saturday (26/2/2022), a member of the UNS KKN 106 Group, Fitrandi Rahayu, explained that the activity was motivated by technological advances that affected payment media. In addition, it is also a form of implementation of one of the work programs related to the KKN group theme, namely Community Empowerment in the MSME Digitization Sector and Administration in Ponowaren Village.

Followed by MSME actors who have not used QRIS as a payment medium and the general public in Ponowaren Village, the socialization presented two speakers. The first speaker was Muhammad Farid. He is a student of the UNS Soil Science Study Program (Prodi) and a member of the Generation of Bank Indonesia (BI) Solo in 2021.
In his presentation, he explained the importance of switching to using QRIS in transactions instead of using cash, the convenience offered, and the prospects of using QRIS.
“The use of QRIS makes the buying and selling process easier. The seller only needs to provide a QR code, then the buyer just scans and enters the nominal amount of money to be paid. It’s that easy and without looking for small money to change,” explained Farid.
The second speaker was Hafidz from LinkAja, Surakarta City branch. On this occasion, he explained the steps for using QRIS for ordinary users and merchants and how to register as a LinkAja MSME partner. In addition, he also explained the benefits of using QRIS.
“Using QRIS can reduce the use of cash, so it is safer from the risk of counterfeit money and especially in this pandemic era can reduce virus transmission through cash,” said Hafizh.
At the end of the interview session, Fitrandi and his team hoped that with this socialization the MSME sector in Ponowaren Village could be digitized and increase the pace of its economy.
“We hope that this socialization will be able to digitize the MSME sector in Ponowaren Village and increase the pace of their economy by following technological developments that are increasingly sophisticated every day,” concluded Fitrandi.
