FKIP – In the context of activities to enliven and commemorate the 46th Anniversary of the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS officially launched the Final Project Monitoring Information System (SIPTA) by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. on Friday (11/3/2022). This activity took place online which was attended by all lecturers and academic staff in the FKIP UNS environment.
The SIPTA application aims to facilitate students and lecturers in guidance and control in order to complete the final project on time. In the presentation of the report by Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc., as the Deputy Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs at FKIP UNS, he explained that the average FKIP achievement index is above 3.50, the average study period is four years and four months and the Education Efficiency Figure (AEE) ) in FKIP UNS is still relatively low.

Furthermore, Prof. Slamet explained that there were several students at FKIP UNS who experienced delays or retreated in completing their final assignments. So, with this background, the SIPTA application is present as an application system that can facilitate student guidance. He also said that in the SIPTA application, in addition to providing convenience and services to students, as well as lecturers, this application can also provide information to parents of students.
“In addition to providing easy guidance and control services for students and lecturers in completing their final assignments, SIPTA can also provide notifications or information to parents of students, so that parents can find out the progress of completing the final project for their children,” explained Prof. good luck.
In closing his report, Prof. Slamet emphasized that the SIPTA application can increase the graduation rate on time and even faster for FKIP UNS students. The SIPTA application will be tested directly by four study programs including Indonesian Language Education Study Program (PBSI), Information and Computer Engineering Education (PTIK), Physics Education, and Mechanical Engineering Education (PTM). Prof. Slamet also expressed his gratitude to the committee and all parties involved in the SIPTA organizing team from the database and information team, as well as the faculty ICT team.

In his remarks, the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc., explained related to reporting on output indicators, namely the achievement index, study period, and AEE. According to him, the AEE indicator in FKIP has been relatively low in the last year. This happened because of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, so many students were unable to complete their final assignments on time.
Furthermore, Dr. Mardiyana explained that currently the faculty’s indicators are focused mainly on the outcome, namely after students graduate it can be seen what percentage of students are pursuing further studies, working or becoming employees, as well as entrepreneurship. Although the main indicator lies in the outcome, but the output indicators, namely the achievement index, study period and AEE can not be underestimated and must be considered, so that the outcome indicator and the output indicator can work well.
Next Dr. Mardiyana also said that with SIPTA it is hoped that students who graduate will have good quality, with a short study period, and after graduation they will immediately get a job.
“Hopefully, with SIPTA, our students will graduate with good quality, with a short study period and immediately get a job after graduating,” said Dr. Mardiyana.
