FKIP – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta officially held a tennis match between former FKIP UNS majors. The activity was carried out in commemoration of the 46th Anniversary of UNS. The match was held at the Merdeka Campus Gelora FKIP UNS and lasted for two days, on Wednesday-Thursday (9-10/3/2022).

The activity was opened with remarks from Fajar Danur Isnantyo, S.T., M.Sc. as chairman of the committee in this tennis match. He stated that the purpose of holding this tennis match was to strengthen friendship and foster sportsmanship, as well as increase achievement in the FKIP environment.

“The tennis match activity has a purpose and objective, namely to strengthen the relationship between lecturers, education staff, and alumni. Also, foster sportsmanship and improve performance in the FKIP environment, so that according to our jargon, ‘health of the mind starts with physical health’, it is manifested in the form of a tennis match which lasts for two days,” said Fajar.

In addition, Fajar hopes that this tennis match can support the success of the UNS Anniversary agenda.

“On behalf of the committee members, I hope that through this tennis match, we can support the success of the 46th UNS Anniversary,” Fajar hoped.

The event continued with a speech given by Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc. On this occasion, Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro as the chairman of the committee for the 46th Anniversary of UNS hopes that this competition can be a place for gathering in FKIP and maintaining physical health.

“First, as an opportunity for friendship, yes. There is togetherness, sincerity, and mutual support, which is very important. Indeed, our goal is to have fun together and be grateful for our beloved university which has entered its 46th year. In addition, this can maintain physical health, “explained Prof. good luck.

After that, the event continued with remarks by Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. as the Dean of FKIP UNS. Dr. Mardiyana said that this tennis match was held among FKIP UNS activities in order to enliven the 46th UNS Anniversary. In line with Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro, he also said that the purpose of this activity was to serve as a gathering place for lecturers at FKIP.

“The first purpose of this activity is to serve as a gathering place for lecturers at FKIP who rarely meet during the pandemic. It is hoped that with this competition, the existing departments in the former department can stay in touch. Second, in order to enliven the UNS Anniversary. Hopefully, we can maintain the physical health of our lecturers and education staff,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

Next Dr. Mardiyana also thanked the organizing committee who had facilitated and the participants who had participated in this activity, and continued by opening a tennis match at FKIP directly.

In this activity, there were eight former majors in FKIP who became participants. They are the Natural Sciences Education Study Program Team (IPA), Social Science Education Team (IPS), Language and Literature Education Team (PBS) A, Language and Literature Education Team (PBS) B, Elementary School Teacher Education Team (PGSD) A, Elementary School Teacher Education Team (PGSD) B, and the Dean’s Team and Team United. A total of 47 people took part.

At FKIP UNS, there are several activities to enliven the 46th UNS Anniversary. Among them in the academic field, there are international activities and events related to inclusive education. In the field of art, there is a folk song cover competition. In addition, there are blood donation activities, and training for facilitators for students with disabilities.
