FKIP – Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are now the focus to support economic recovery due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The existence of innovation is one of the important things in running MSMEs. This gave rise to the idea of Group 3 Real Work Lecture (KKN) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta to provide innovation for “Eco Roso” MSMEs in Gledeg Village, Karanganom District, Klaten Regency.

Chaired by Hasan Al Bana, Group 3 of UNS KKN consists of 9 members. They are Al Hafiiz Abdika Muhammad, Deva Nur Putri Altiara, Ganung Nalendra Prakasa, Hanijaya Intan Pratiwi, Hilmy Yahya, Ilma Aurarisa, Irfan Tri Laksono Hadi, Mitha Sinayang Wahyu Candini, and Silvina Dyah Ramadhanty.

Eco Roso is an MSME that produces powdered drinks from traditional spices with three variants, namely ginger, turmeric, and temulawak. The MSMEs are managed by the Gledeg Village 2 Family Welfare Working Group (PKK). These products use ingredients that are guaranteed to be halal, without preservatives, and artificial sweeteners. However, the product can last up to three months.

Meanwhile, the innovation breakthrough carried out by Group 3 of the UNS KKN was to update the packaging to make it more attractive to buyers. Not only that, they also initiated digital marketing to expand the marketing aspects of selling Eco Roso MSME products.

One of the members of group 3 KKN UNS, Ganung Nalendra Prakasa, explained that the idea for implementing the activity came after they made a visit to the Eco Roso MSME. The conventional marketing conditions are the background of the work program.

“This innovation emerged after we made a visit to the Eco Roso MSME. The marketing was only done to local residents, even though the sales potential of their products is large if you look at the sales of similar products during a pandemic like this. Therefore we changed the packaging and made marketing breakthroughs digitally. The Eco Roso digital sales page is available on Instagram @ecoroso.gledeg,” explained Ganung when contacted by the FKIP Journalist Team a few moments ago.

Ganung and the team hope that the innovations they present can make Eco Roso MSME products in Gledeg Village more known and in demand by the public.

“Seeing the increasing Covid situation due to the emergence of the Omicron variant and supported by the existing sales potential, we hope that the innovations we present can make Eco Roso MSME products in Gledeg Village more known and in demand both inside and outside the Klaten area,” Ganung hoped.
