FKIP – Sebelas Maret University Student Work Lecture Group (UNS) Surakarta held digital marketing socialization for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Wirogaten Village, Mirit, Kebumen.

This group of 89 consisted of Surya Akhli Pranoto, Wachida Maftuhatun Nisa, Umroh Fudolla, Ummatussa’adah, Ummy Rofiningun KPHS, Ventia Salsabiil V., Vanadian KPAW, Iqbal Mohammad Haydar, and Naufal Fadya Bartellsy.

This socialization activity was motivated by the limited marketing reach of MSME products in Wirogaten Village and offered solutions for workers who were laid off due to the pandemic. This was conveyed by Dolla as a member of the KKN group.

“Because the marketing reach of MSMEs in Wirogaten Village is not yet widespread. Marketing is still around the village, not yet outside. In addition, since the pandemic, many workers have been laid off, so inevitably they have to be transferred to businesses,” said Dolla when interviewed by the fkip.uns.ac.id team on Tuesday (1/3/2022).

This digital marketing socialization was attended by MSME actors in Wirogaten Village and people from each hamlet.

The purpose of this activity is to provide introduction, understanding, and training to the Wirogaten village community regarding marketing digitalization.

The socialization activity was initiated by introducing the types of market shops, such as shopee and tokopedia. Furthermore, participants were given training on how to use each application to how to apply for a business license at the ministry.

This activity certainly received a positive response from the community. This is evidenced by the enthusiasm of the community to participate in socialization activities.

“They are enthusiastic about the socialization because they are still quite cloudy with e-commerce, such as shopee, tokopedia, and others. What they know is new applications such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. So these activities are quite helpful,” explained Dolla.

In the end, the UNS 89 KKN group expressed their hope that the information from this socialization could be useful for the people of Wirogaten Village.

“Hopefully the information can be well captured by the public and can be applied. Maybe it can be used as a guide to promote MSMEs in the village and expand marketing. Hopefully, people who don’t have MSMEs can start pioneering so that there are many MSMEs in the village so that they can advance the village as well,” concluded Dolla.
