In addition, the activity was also attended by the Head of Jatisari Village, Mr. Teguh, and the Jatisari Village farmer group.

Yogi conveyed the purpose of implementing this work program, namely so that people no longer have to worry about the limitations of fertilizers.

“The existence of the POC introduction program by utilizing household waste makes the community understand how to manage organic waste properly and appropriately, and people no longer need to worry about fertilizer limitations,” explained Yogi.

Yogi also explained the percentage of household waste in Jatisari Village and the program’s link with the government’s agenda.

“Household waste is one of the wastes with a high percentage of around 80-90% in the Jatisari area. This makes a great opportunity to be used as an environmentally friendly fertilizer or usually called liquid organic fertilizer (POC). This is also in line with the government’s program on sustainable agriculture,” Yogi continued.

Yogi continued by explaining the ingredients needed to make POC.

“The basic ingredients for making POC are household organic waste such as vegetable residue, fruit peels, and other organic kitchen waste. In addition, brown sugar, shrimp paste, and rice water. The manufacturing process only mixes the above ingredients, then closes tightly and waits for up to 30 days with regular checks, “said Yogi.

At the end of the presentation, Mrs. Tin, a member of the Jatisari Village Farmers Group also expressed her gratitude to UNS students for this program.

“I am very grateful to the UNS KKN students because with this activity, we residents can start to use cooking waste and food that was not useful before to become very useful,” said Mrs. Tin.

socialization activities POC ended with the delivery of POC products to the Jatisari Village Head. The village head revealed that the villagers were very enthusiastic about participating in this activity because it would be beneficial for the community.
