FKIP – Sociology Anthropology Education Student Association (Himadiksan) Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a social service with the theme “Cheerful Ramadan”. This activity was carried out at the Duafa Orphanage of the Child Welfare Institution (LKSA) of the Kratonan Community, Serengan, Surakarta on Friday (22/4/2022).

Ricky Erlangga as Chairman of Himadiksan said that this activity is one form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service. In addition, this activity aims to train students’ social sensitivity and give encouragement to orphanage children.

“This activity is intended to train the social sensitivity of Sociological Anthropology Education students, FKIP UNS, in which this scientific discipline focuses on humans and culture. This activity is also intended to give encouragement to orphanage children, some of whom are orphans,” he explained.

Activities involving the study program, students of the Sociology Anthropology Education Study Program, Himadiksan administrators, donors, orphans and the Koran Education Park (TPA), as well as administrators of the orphanage are filled with various activities in it. Meanwhile, the activities carried out included coloring games, guessing games, ice breaking, breaking fast, Maghrib prayers, closing, documentation, and giving donations.

“Cheerful Ramadan begins by inviting children to play games that hone creativity and intelligence. First, children in groups color one of the pictures that have been prepared. This is intended to train their creativity in combining colors and practice teamwork. Second. , game that sharpens intelligence. This game is in the form of giving guesses related to general knowledge, about Islam, and game whisper or guessing words. After that, the children and the administrators do ice breakingvin the form of clapping pious children, clapping ablution, and learning Arabic. Several children volunteered to lead their friends in the ice breaking. This was very positive to practice social courage, do good, and practice public speaking from an early age. The activity continued with breaking fast together. Then we performed the Maghrib prayer congregation, closing, documentation, and providing compensation for donations,” he explained.

With the implementation of this activity, Ricky hopes to form an inclusive social attitude towards others in students, such as students’ social sensitivity as agents of change and agents of value, increasing sympathy and empathy, presenting positive ideas, and sharing happiness.

“The formation of an inclusive social attitude towards others. As a student whose focus of study is the social sciences of the humanities, it is hoped that through this activity it can increase students’ social sensitivity as agents of change and agents of value, increase sympathy and empathy, always present ideas to bring change to society. positive direction and share happiness with others,” he said.
