In his speech Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. as the Dean of FKIP expressed his gratitude to the assessors who were present in carrying out the duties of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). Dr. Mardiyana also explained the description and accreditation of study programs at FKIP UNS.

“FKIP UNS has 25 undergraduate study programs, 17 master study programs, 5 doctoral study programs, and 1 teaching profession study program. Of all study programs in the undergraduate program, 92% have been accredited A. As for the master’s study program, there are 8 old study programs and 9 new study programs. The new master’s study program has only done accreditation once, and PGSD has also done accreditation for the first time. Therefore, with changes, improvements, and progress to improve the quality of the Master’s Degree in PGSD, it is hoped that it will give the best results,” explained Dr. Mardiyana.

Furthermore, Dr. Mardiyana conveyed the commitment of FKIP UNS to conducting internal and external quality assurance. He also conveyed the commitment of FKIP UNS to obtaining international accreditation for FKIP UNS study programs.

“FKIP commits that quality assurance is very important, so internal and external quality assurance is prepared to make quality standardized nationally and internationally with high-quality study programs. In 2021, we applied for international accreditation of 6 study programs, both in AQAS, ASIIN, and FIIBA accreditation. This year, we proposed 10 study programs for international accreditation and we will submit the rest in 2023. Meanwhile, for the master’s degree study program and doctoral program, it will follow in 2023, “said Dr. Mardiyana.

Furthermore, Dr. Y. Suyitno, M.Pd. the Representative of Assessor of BAN-PT in his speech explained the purpose of accreditation to improve the quality of education in Indonesia.

“In facing strict education in the international world and to be on par with other countries, an effort is needed to improve the quality of education in the form of reports or accreditation through forms. The purpose of accreditation is as a partner, not an investigator. That is, this activity aims to show data or reports that are lacking so that they can be repaired and completed, “explained Dr. Suyitno,

Furthermore, Dr. Y. Suyitno explained the task of assessors in the accreditation process, which was to find out whether there was conformity with criteria 1-9 in the learning process of the PGSD FKIP UNS Master’s Degree Study Program.

“Our job here is just to find out what’s in criteria 1, criteria 2, criteria 3 and so on up to criteria 9. So, we ask for the cooperation of all parties involved here to show the suitability of criteria 1 to criteria 9,” explained Dr. Suyitno.

On the closing occasion, Dr. Y. Suyitno expressed his gratitude for the welcome or acceptance from the PGSD Masters Program and FKIP UNS. He also invited to jointly advance the quality of education, both in the field of educational science and scientific education in the field of study.
