FKIP – Students of Mathematics Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta managed to reach the top three positions in the Rector’s Cup IV Road to the National Competition of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (KN-MIPA). They are Bagus Aqil Saputra who won second place and Marsella Friskana Puteri who won third place for Rector Cup IV in Mathematics.

This championship is a forum for the internal selection of UNS students who will compete in the National KNMIPA. The election was held in two stages, namely the selection round which was held online via Zoom Meeting on Saturday-Sunday (26-27/2/2022), and the final round which was held offline at the FMIPA Computer Lab on Saturday-Sunday (19-20/3). /2022). In addition, four fields are contested, namely Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

When contacted by the fkip.uns.ac.id team, Bagus Aqil Saputra said that he received many benefits when participating in this championship, such as increasing relationships for discussion, experience, enthusiasm for learning, and channeling talents and interests in the Olympics.

“The benefits that I get after participating in this competition are to add relationships and friends to discuss, gain experience and can channel my talents and interests in Olympic activities, as well as increase my enthusiasm for learning,” he said.

He also expressed his enthusiasm for preparing for the 2022 KNMIPA later. In addition, he advised the other participants to stay motivated.

“The Chancellor of the Cup IV in Mathematics this year was exciting and the committee was very excited to prepare UNS representatives at KNMIPA-PT 2022, therefore I also want to continue the spirit of the committee and try not to disappoint the committee, I will continue to be enthusiastic about studying to prepare myself at KNMIPA -PT 2022. Then, for friends who have the opportunity to represent UNS at KNMIPA-PT 2022, keep the spirit and don’t give slack to learn, as well as for friends who have not had the opportunity,” he said.

Bagus hopes that his journey can continue to the next levels so that the UNS campus can be proud.

“I hope to be proud of the name of UNS at the next level by winning the KNMIPA-PT regional level, then being able to continue to the next level,” he hoped.

The same thing was also conveyed by Marsella Friskana Puteri, she got many benefits when she joined this championship.

“By participating in the Rector’s Cup competition, I can increase my relationships and make me more enthusiastic in studying, making me more able to manage time even though it is not so optimal, and can add even more experience,” he explained.

He feels happy because he has reached this level, especially with his parents. After all, according to him, the more experience, the more meaningful life is.

“Alhamdulillah, it is special happiness for me. In my opinion, the more experiences we have, the more meaningful our lives will be. This has also become a joy for my parents,” he said.

At the end of the interview, he hopes that at least he will get a bronze medal and make friends studying time management.

“Hopefully I get a bronze medal and get friends who can teach me to manage time well,” he hoped.
