FKIP – The S-1 Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program (PG PAUD) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Curriculum Evaluation of the Independent Learning Program Independent Campus (MBKM) on Thursday (19/5/2022) in a hybrid manner. The activity was carried out offline in the Campus IV Hall of FKIP UNS, Kleco, Surakarta, and online through the Zoom Meeting application.
The activity began with the presentation of the material and the results of the MBKM curriculum review for the PG PAUD FKIP UNS Study Program. Moderated by Vera Sholeha, S.Pd., M.Pd. as a Lecturer of the S-1 PG PAUD Study Program, this evaluation presented two resource persons. The first resource person is Dr. Amir Syamsudin, S.Ag., M.Ag. He is the Chair of the PAUD Department, Yogyakarta State University (UNY).

In his presentation, he explained the material entitled “Discussion of the Independent S-1 PAUD Curriculum”. He explained the material regarding the profile of PG PAUD UNS graduates, the learning load of the types of courses in the Semester Credit Unit (SKS), learning experiences from the preparation of the independent curriculum for the S-1 PG PAUD UNY, the Independent Curriculum courses, to the choice of independent learning activities for PG PAUD students. . According to him, there are ten choices of independent learning activities for PG PAUD students.
“There are ten choices of Merdeka Learning activities that PG PAUD students can participate in. The ten activities are Teaching Assistants in education units, Educational Practices, Research or Research, Humanitarian Projects, Entrepreneurial Activities, Independent Studies or Projects, Internships or Work Practices, Thematic Community Service Programs or Village Development, and Regular Community Service Programs, and other programs recognized as forms of activity. learning by the government and universities,” said Dr. Amir.
The second resource person is Giyarni, S.Pd., AUD. He is a member of the PAUD Quality Assurance Team for Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Secondary Education (Dikdasmen) of the Indonesian Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT). In addition, he is also the Manager of PAUD IT Mutiara Insan Sukoharjo.
He explained the material entitled “Curriculum Adaptation to Meet the Implementation of an Independent Curriculum”. In his presentation, he explained the definition of education according to Ki Hajar Dewantara, the guidelines for child-friendly schools, the management of Holistic Integrative PAUD, the concept of an independent school for learning, and the main goal of free learning, and the implementation of an independent curriculum in PAUD.
He explained that Merdeka Learning has the main goal of producing Indonesian students as students who are able to compete globally and behave in Pancasila. According to him, there are six profiles of Indonesian students as Pancasila students.
“The main goal of the concept of Merdeka Learning is to produce Indonesian students. What student? Indonesian students are lifelong students who have global competence and behave in accordance with the values of Pancasila. There are six profiles of Pancasila students, namely creative, global diversity, mutual cooperation, critical reasoning, independence, faith, fear of God Almighty, or noble character,” explained Giyarni.
The activity continued with a question and answer session with resource persons and a panel discussion. Then, the activity ended with joint documentation.
