FKIP – The Economic Education Student Association (Himannomi) of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a scholarship webinar entitled “Himannomi Scholarship Exhibition (HSE)” on Saturday (4/6/2022). Carrying the theme “Scholarship Make Your Dream Come True”, the event was held online through the Zoom Meeting application.

In his speech, Dr. Sudarno, S.Pd., M.Pd. as the Head of the Economic Education Study Program (Kaprodi) FKIP UNS said that students must have preparation and readiness to compete for educational scholarships.

“At the moment we are in the era of globalization. Talking about globalization is synonymous with intense competition. One way to compete is to be willing to learn and be educated. There are many offers of scholarships for higher education. So, it’s not the time for cost to be a barrier. Students who want to get scholarships, must have the preparation and readiness to compete. This activity is expected to provide an overview of what preparations are needed in the competition for scholarships,” said Dr. Darno.

Moderated by Muhammad Rezza Octavian as a student of the Economics Education Study Program, this event presented a resource person. The resource person is Raditia Yoke Pratama. He is a recipient of the Bright Scholarship awarded by the Baitul Maal Foundation of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (YBM BRI) UNS.

On that occasion, Yoke brought material about the profile of the Bright Scholarship program. At the beginning of his presentation, he explained the general description of the YBM BRI Bright Scholarship. Then, he also explained about the vision, mission, goals, program period, coaching targets, scholarship facilities, program targets, awardee criteria, administrative requirements, to the selection stage of the YBM BRI Bright Scholarship.

Yoke explained that the YBM BRI Bright Scholarship is a scholarship given to Muslim undergraduate students at selected state universities. The scholarships provided are in the form of tuition fees, monthly fees, and comprehensive coaching.

“This scholarship is a scholarship provided by the Baitul Maal Foundation of Bank Rakyat Indonesia for undergraduate students at selected state universities. The scholarship is in the form of tuition assistance and monthly fees. In addition, scholarship recipients are also provided with comprehensive, regular, planned, and targeted coaching. The goal is to form future leaders who have character, are competitive, and apply Islamic values ​​in life,” explained Yoke.

Furthermore, Yoke also explained the criteria for the recipients of the YBM BRI Bright Scholarship. He mentioned the six criteria.

“There are six criteria for the YBM BRI Bright Scholarship awardee. The six criteria are Indonesian citizens who are Muslim or Muslimah, active second semester students at the time of registration, achievement index above 3, fluent in reading the Koran, achievement and active in organizations, and ready to be fostered to become Muslim achievements, “explained Yoke.

This activity ended with a discussion session in the form of questions and answers and joint documentation.
