FKIP – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has launched a new study program, namely Undergraduate (S-1) Educational Technology. The launch took place online via Zoom Meeting and was broadcast live on the SPMB UNS Youtube channel on Saturday (11/6/2022).

The Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. give a speech in this activity. He said that technological developments were growing rapidly, so the presence of the S-1 Educational Technology Study Program was expected to be able to answer the challenges of the needs of learning technology development experts.

“Technology developments in various aspects of human life are growing rapidly. Therefore, the presence of the S-1 Educational Technology Study Program is really needed at this time to answer the challenges of the need for expert learning technology developers. Also edupreneur in the field of ICT-based learning technology,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

The activity was opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Yunus, M.S. as the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs at UNS. Prof. Yunus said that learning technology with FKIP was tasked with increasing the ability to provide broad learning.

“Educational technology is now very important for us because before this study program was established at UNS, it was also very advanced out there, so fast regarding learning technology. Especially those associated with IT. Therefore, the task (Prodi) of Educational Technology with FKIP is to improve the ability to provide learning, educate the public at large, “said Prof. Yunus.

This event was attended by Drs. Tamso, M.M. as Assistant for Government and Welfare of the Surakarta City Secretary, Dr. Dra. Yuli Bangun N. M.Pd. as the Head of the Wonogiri Regency Education and Culture Office, the guardian of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), the secretariat, the Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (BPTIK), and Seameo Seamolec.

The activity was continued with a talk show with the theme “Potentials and Opportunities for Graduates of S-1 Educational Technology” moderated by Dr. Eka Budhi Santosa, M.Pd.

The first resource person, namely Dr. Agus Efendi, M.Pd. as the head of the Task Force Team for the S-1 Educational Technology Study Program. On this occasion, Dr. Agus conveyed the background of the establishment of the S-1 Education Technology Study Program at UNS.

“This is actually an effort to revive the Educational Technology and Curriculum Development Study Program or what we call PKTP which was actually established before. However, currently, the curriculum has been integrated with educational technology, so there is a great need for an Educational Technology Study Program,” explained Dr. Agus.

The second resource person is Dr. Rudi Susilana, M.Pd. as Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Educational Technology Study Programs (APS-TPI). In his presentation, Dr. Rudi delivered a material entitled “Graduates of the Educational Technology Study Program, Where Do You Get Job Opportunities?”.

The third resource person is Dr. Purwanto, M.Pd. as the Chairperson of the Main Expert PTP Kemendikbutristek. Presentation of Dr. Purwanto entitled “PTP and PK Needs Opportunities and Challenges in Indonesia”.

The fourth resource person is Dr. Purwanto, M.Pd. as the head of the UNS New Student Admissions Selection (SPMB). In the presentation, Dr. Purwanto presented the material with the title “UNS My Dream Campus”.
