FKIP – Students of the Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won in the 3rd position in the 2022 UNS Campus Ambassador Selection event. The coronation was held on Friday (3/6) /2022) in a hybrid way, namely offline at the Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building, UNS Tower and online via a live broadcast on the Sebelas Maret University Youtube channel.

The student is Fa’ari Salsabiila from the Chemical Education Study Program batch 2020. He has participated in a series of Campus Ambassador Selection Selection processes which have been held since April 2022.

Fa’ari admitted that he considered this achievement as a new mandate to be carried out.

“Of course I’m happy, but personally I see this as a new mandate, a mandate with great responsibility, and trying to carry out the mandate as well as possible,” said Fa’ari when interviewed by the fkip.uns.ac.id team on Tuesday (14/6/2022).

Fa’ari also explained that one of the ideas promoted was open and transparent discussions between students and the campus bureaucracy.

“One of the ideas that I put forward in the Campus Ambassador Election was to hold open, transparent discussions between bureaucrats on campus and students,” explained Fa’ari.

He said that the idea was motivated by events in the campus environment which he thought might have occurred because of a misconception.

“My background for carrying this idea is because I have seen that in the last few months there have been frequent demonstrations on campus itself, which may have occurred due to misconceptions regarding a policy being made, distrust of the campus, and so on,” said Fa’ari.

Fa’ari believes that every step taken has been carefully considered. Therefore, Fa’ari brought this idea as a solution to this problem.

“I believe that every step or policy that is made is of course with careful consideration. Therefore, there needs to be transparency, openness, between the campus and students,” said Fa’ari.

At the end, Fa’ari conveyed the contribution he would make after being crowned the 3rd female champion.

“By becoming an ambassador, I will indirectly be noticed, so I try to be a good role model and try to continue to develop myself. As an ambassador, I also support campus activities, be it a green campus, support UNS towards WCU, and others. In addition, the campus ambassador will realize the work program that has been planned with other campus ambassadors,” concluded Fa’ari.
