FKIP – Students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta successfully won 2nd Place in Biology in the Rector’s Cup IV Event. This is Hamida Rahmawati.

Aiming to capture and prepare UNS delegates for the 2022 National Student and Natural Sciences Competition (KN-MIPA) held by the Ministry of Education, Research Culture, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), Cup IV Chancellor competed in 4 fields of competition. The four fields of competition are Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

Announced as the 2nd Place in Biology on Monday (4/4/2022) via the @knmipauns Instagram account, Hamida had to go through the initial selection process to attract 7 students per competition field. Then, he had to compete in the final round to fight for the top 3 in the field of biology competition.

When contacted by the journalist team at fkip.uns.ac.id, Friday (10/6/2022), Hamida expressed her gratitude and pleasure for the achievements she had made in the Rector’s Cup IV event. He explained that this achievement could not be separated from the support given by the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS.

“When I was declared successful in getting 2nd place in Biology at the Rector’s Cup IV event, I felt grateful and happy. For me, winning and losing must have a lesson. With the results of this competition, I got a lot of motivation and direction from my lecturers to increase my responsibility and preparation if I later become a UNS delegate in the KN MIPA 2022 event,” explained Hamida.

Hamida told what things he did to prepare himself to take part in a series of Rector Cup IV selections. He revealed that he received information and assistance in the selection of Rector Cup IV from his study program.

“Initially, I received information regarding the Rector’s Cup IV event from my study program. Then, the study program also appointed lecturers to accompany and guide us in preparing ourselves to take part in this event. We were given material and practice questions for us to study independently. The point is to read a lot and practice,” said Hamida.

Furthermore, he shared his preparations for participating in the KN MIPA 2022 selection in the future. He said that the preparations he made were almost the same as his preparations for the Rector’s Cup IV event.

“Preparing for the 2022 KN MIPA selection is not much different from my preparation for participating in the Rector’s Cup IV event yesterday. There is guidance and direction from the study program as well. What I do is practice more and pray more,” said Hamida.

At the end of the interview session, Hamida advised doing the job optimally and professionally. He also suggested to students who have the potential and interest in the MIPA realm to take part in the MIPA KN event to hone their potential and interest.

“If you do a job, do it optimally and professionally. For friends who have the potential and interest in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences field, I suggest participating in the KN MIPA selection because you will get guidance and share knowledge with students from other faculties who can certainly hone your potential,” suggested Hamida.
