FKIP – Good news is back from the Outstanding Student of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta, Iksan Riva Nanda. The reason is that the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program (PTM) student managed to get 3rd place in the Undergraduate Program in the 2022 UNS Outstanding Student Award event.

The 2022 UNS Outstanding Student Award was held on Saturday (4/6/2022) offline in the Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). This award was attended by 12 Mawapres Finalists for the UNS Undergraduate and Diploma Programs. Previously, they had gone through several stages of selection.

Starting with the Selection of Outstanding Students (Pilmapresa) at the faculty and vocational school levels, they also have to take several assessments at the university level. The assessments include excellent achievements, presentations in Indonesian and English, creative ideas, and psychological tests.

To the team of journalists at fkip.uns.ac.id, Monday (6/6/2022), Iksan said he was happy and grateful for the results he got. Iksan also told about the preparations he had made before the award ceremony.

“I did not target to become 1st Place, as an empirical strategy to avoid the turmoil of failure. However, there is an image of the faculty and study programs that I bring so I try to do my best. I try to prepare a contemplative, mental, and slightly correct PPT for the presentation. Every morning before the award, I also cycle to maintain my health,” said Iksan.

Furthermore, Iksan shared the significance of this achievement. There are 3 points of significance for this achievement, namely sincerity, urgency, and legacy.

“Getting this title has 3 important meanings for me. The first is about sincerity. For me, every competition has a consequence that must be accepted sincerely because the main thing is to try. The second is about urgency. Being a mawapres is a benchmark for self-development and also our urgency to be tough students, high fighting power, and strong mentality. Lastly about legacy. Being a mawapres means that I have been judged to have left a good legacy at UNS. I hope that this can support the self-confidence of both my high school sister who wants to study at UNS and my sister at the study program level,” said Iksan.

Iksan said that he realized that as a mawapres he would be regarded as an inspiring, independent, and devoted person. Therefore, he will try to increase the 3 values in himself, namely inspirational, innovative, and contributive.

At the end of the interview session, Iksan advised interpreting life as best as possible. He invites students to do positive activities as a form of gratitude for the services of their parents.

“Our parents have tried to raise and fight for our lives. So, reward them with our positive achievements or activities. It is our adult form of action. If my message is forgotten and has no impact on friends, try friends to take the time to reflect on my message often. One day they and all of us will leave, make the most of our lives,” Iksan said
