FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta participated in celebrating UNS Open Days 2022 on Monday (6/6/2022). This activity was carried out online through a zoom meeting, live Instagram @spmbuns, and live streaming on the SPMB UNS youtube channel.

This activity is a series of socialization activities for the UNS independent pathway in 2022. The activity began with remarks by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. In his speech, Dr. Mardiyana said that FKIP is one of the largest faculties at UNS.

“FKIP UNS is one of the largest faculties at UNS because this faculty has many choices of study programs and has the most students. Currently, FKIP UNS manages 25 undergraduate study programs, 17 master programs, and 5 doctoral programs plus the Teacher Professional Education study program in which there are 27 fields of study, “said Dr. Mardiyana.

Furthermore, Dr. Mardiyana conveyed about lecturers, administrative staff, and teaching staff. In addition, it was also conveyed about the facilities and infrastructure and student organizations.

Dr. Mardiyana also said that UNS FKIP is a state FKIP which is one of the references for other states FKIPs in Indonesia. In addition, FKIP UNS also collaborates with various agencies, both the education office and companies, as well as with international organizations and universities abroad.

At the end of the speech, Dr. Mardiyana invites prospective new students who want to devote themselves to being a teacher to study at FKIP UNS.

“I think if you are interested in becoming a teacher, devoting your knowledge to the world of education, I think FKIP UNS is one of the best choices for prospective teachers,” concluded Dr. Mardiyana.

Next was the presentation of the learning system at FKIP UNS which was delivered by Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc. as Deputy Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs. At the beginning of his presentation, Prof. Slamet conveyed the ideals of FKIP UNS.

“So, at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, the goal is to become a center of science, technology, and art in the field of education and teacher training with an international reputation but still based on the noble values ​​of national culture,” said Prof. Slamet.

The academic activities and systems that take place at FKIP UNS are by the appeal from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, namely independent learning on an independent campus (MBKM). Prof. Slamet also said that FKIP UNS had achieved many achievements, both in academic and non-academic fields.

The next session was a question and answer session and a sharing session with FKIP UNS alumni.
