FKIP – Study Program for Doctoral Science and Master of Educational Technology Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Educational Sciences (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Guest Lecture with the theme “Multimedia Based Interactional Design and Technology-Based Development Research” online through a zoom meeting on Wednesday (29/6/2022).

This activity aims to improve and develop technological knowledge in education. The guest lecture activity was presented by Dr. Wahyudi as Director of SEAMOLEC (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Open Learning Center) and Prof. Ts. Dr. Faaizah Shabodin from UTeM (Technical University Malaysia Melaka) Malaysia. In addition, this event was attended by faculty leaders, professors, and lecturers from the Educational Science Doctoral Study Program, professors and lecturers of Masters in Educational Technology, as well as students with an interest in Educational Science and Educational Technology.

Prof. Drs. Gunarhadi, MA Ph.D., the Head of the S3 Educational Sciences Study Program, FKIP UNS, and the organizing committee said that with this activity it is hoped that students will be able to identify and understand more strategic information about their talents and interests in college.

“We hope that this activity can be a provision for students and can also be a bridge to establish cooperation from various related parties,” said Prof. Gunarhadi.

Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si., the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS in his speech said that FKIP UNS has 25 Undergraduate Education Study Programs (S1), 17 Masters Education Study Programs (S2), 5 Doctoral Education Study Programs (S3) and 1 Professional Education, namely Teacher Professional Education (PPG) with a total of 48 Study Programs. Therefore, FKIP UNS needs to establish cooperation – cooperation in terms of government, education, industry, social society, and so on, both from within the country and abroad.

“One of the collaborations that we have been running for a very long time is with SEAMOLEC. As a form of follow-up to the cooperation program, we held a public lecture that presented speakers from SEAMOLEC. We hope that this activity can be an alternative in preparing quality education graduates and become a bridge to establish sustainable collaborations,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

“In the future, we hope to establish cooperation with the University of Malaysia Melaka (UTem). Not only about research, system development, or online joint lectures, but can collaborate with student exchanges or student exchanges to be able to study at UTem and FKIP UNS, or even with lecturer exchanges, so that they can help each other in the progress and improvement of education, especially in S2 and S3 Study Programs. It can also serve as a function for promotion so that it is widely known and becomes a study program that is in great demand,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

On that occasion, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc., officially opened public lectures. The event was continued with a presentation or presentation of general lecture material by Prof. Ts. Dr. Faaizah Shabodin from UTeM (Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka) Malaysia on Multimedia Based Interactional Design and the next material by resource person Dr. Wahyudi on Technology-Based Development Research, and guided by Dr. Fatma Sukmawati, M.Pd. as a lecturer in S2 Educational Technology FKIP UNS.
