FKIP– Economic Education Student Association (Himannomy) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) ) Surakarta held a SOCARE (Social Awareness) webinar with the theme Quarter Life Crisis: Clear Your Doubts, Get Your Future. This event was held online via Zoom Meeting on Saturday (18/6/2022).

SOCARE, which stands for Social Awareness, is a webinar activity that aims to distribute knowledge and discuss social issues, such as mental health, humanity, and so on to students and the general public.

The event, which was moderated by Meirida Kartika Jati, presented Ade Meilasari, M.PSi, a Psychologist as a speaker. Ade explained the material about facing the crisis of 1/4 year of life, namely the transition from adolescence to early adulthood. The early adult developments include starting work, choosing a partner, starting a family, raising children, taking on responsibilities as a citizen, and looking for a fun social group.

“Quarter life crisis is a transition from one stage of our development to another. Well, because this quarter-life crisis exists in adolescence to early adulthood, it is related to the developmental tasks that we will face in the next phase,” he explained.

In addition, Ade also explained how to manage a crisis was realized with three simple principles, namely to be aware, accept, and manage. This awareness is related to self-awareness or self-awareness regarding strengths, talents, educational background, opportunities in the environment, organization, bad habits, self-weaknesses, obstacles, and fears. Accept means to accept the strengths and weaknesses possessed by setting goals, making priorities, seeking valid information, and appreciating every process and achievement that has been attempted. Manage means action or behavior performed.

“How do we manage or how to cope with a quarter life crisis? Namely with these three simple principles, realize, accept, and manage,” he explained.
