FKIP – Student Activity Unit (UKM) Pen Study Circle (LSP) Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held an offline Essay and Article Training at the Kebumen PGSD Hall on Saturday ( 25/6/2022).

This essay and article training is one of the work programs of the LSP PGSD Kebumen FKIP scientific department. This training carries the theme “Improving Article & Essay Writing as a Productivity Container”. The speakers presented were Rima Arvysa Natania Putri as general chairman of the 2020/2021 Literacy Ambassador and Eryneta Nurul Hasanah, S.Pd. as LPDP 2021 Awardee.

This activity was attended by PGSD Kebumen FKIP UNS students and the general public including high school/K students in Kebumen Regency. The goal is to grow the ability to write scientifically since high school and show its existence as a UNS campus in Kebumen.

Interviewed by the fkip.uns.ac.id team, Agustina Puspa Mentari the chief executive of the essay and article training conveyed the purpose of this training.

“The first objective of this activity is to improve the ability of students and senior high school students in Kebumen Regency in writing essays and articles. Second, in addition to improving writing skills, high school students and college students are also expected to know how to write essays and articles correctly in order to improve their writing skills. Third, to strengthen their intellectual abilities in writing essays and articles correctly and appropriately as a place for millennial productivity, “said Agustina on Monday (18/7/2022).

Agustina also explained that the existence of this training had an impact on the participants, namely students and university students.

“Personally yesterday I asked the students who took part in this event, they said that essays and articles are new things because at school they only get material about essays and articles in general terms, but here they also get tips and tricks. Then, for students, they will have additional insight because previously they are familiar with essays and articles,” explained Agustina.

In the end, Agustina expressed hope for the implementation of this activity.

“The hope is that participants can know how to write good and correct articles and essays. Second, to spread scientific writing viruses because currently, the need for scientific writing is not only in college, but some scholarships now require writing essays. Third, as a branding of the Kebumen LSP and in general to show that even though we are the farthest campus, we can also show the existence of UNS in the Kebumen Regency area,” concluded Agustina.
