FKIP – Law and Citizenship Group Research, Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program (PRODI), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Sebelas Maret University (UNS) in collaboration with the Subject Teacher Deliberation (MGMP) of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) of High School (SMA) Boyolali Regency held a Workshop on Strengthening Pancasila Student Profiles and Assisting in The Development of Mastery of Project-based Learning Models on Monday, (6/20/2022) at SMAN 1 Andong, Boyolali Regency.
This activity is carried out in order to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students, considering that strengthening the nation’s character needs to be done to prepare superior future generations, and answer challenges in the present and future. Adaptability, having an interest in learning new things, and being independent are indispensable characteristics in global competition. In addition, mentoring for teachers is intended to increase the knowledge and skills of teachers in applying project-based learning models, especially in KDP subjects.
This workshop and mentoring activity presented 2 speakers. The first speaker, Dr. Triana Rejekiningsih, S.H., K.N., M.Pd. who is a Lecturer and also the Head of the PPKn Study Program Service Team, FKIP, UNS. He delivered material on the context of Civics, the targets of formation in Civics, civics learning models, especially project-based learning.
“Project-based learning is a learning method that uses problems as a first step in collecting and integrating new knowledge based on their experience in real activities,” explained Dr. Triana. He also emphasized that project-based learning emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving orientation.
The second speaker, Dr. Rima Vien Permata Hartanto, S.H., M.H., who is also a Lecturer in PPKn Study Program, FKIP, UNS, and a member of the RG Law and Citizenship service team. In his presentation, he delivered material on the topic of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project. Dr. Rima explained, “To realize the Pancasila Student Profile, there are six competencies that are key dimensions that must be possessed”. The six dimensions are faith, piety in God Almighty, and noble character, global development, cooperation, independence. critical reasoning, creative, and everything is interrelated and reinforcing,” he added. After the presentation of the material by the two speakers, it was followed by a question and answer session, and discussion, and ended with a group photo.
